The number of posts to get RS++++ would need at least another person joining in the party. It would be insane without it. >_>

That sounds like defeatism to me!

Maybe we can excite skyl somehow. :P

Maybe, but I stand a chance of it. I have my schedule as an advantage. Sure, I'm going to be fighting against the count in a few minutes or so?

But I have an advantage time where I know that count won't drop for a while.

Would you think my computer being slow and my fingers hurting are an advantage to you?

Why not get a faster computer, then?

My fingers aren't hurting in the slightest. Then again, I suspect that's due to how my fingers are.

I already have a faster computer (my desktop), but I usually don't use it at night. I have my own reasons for that.

It has 6GB or RAM instead of 4GB.

That's enough for speed difference.

I don't find RAM to make much of a difference outside more memory intensive operations.

I only have 8GB RAM due to using this machine for gaming at times.

This computer only has 4GB and I don't think it's ever been an issue... but I don't do too much that's too memory intensive, I don't think. Hell, Firefox is probably my biggest memory user :P

It's not like uh... 2010?! In three years the memory usage got worse. Using Firefox 3.6 in a VM brings back good memories.

Anyway, the problem is... I don't know. The Task Manager shows there shouldn't be in theory much lag. In practice there is, and the memory Firefox requires doesn't help.

Also, I've reduced the posts per page to 20. It lags for less time. >_>

If something like that makes a difference, maybe your RAM isn't fast enough for your machine's needs?

Or maybe it's because it's a notebook...

My best guess is that I've installed something bad on there, because when I originally bought it it was obviously lightning fast with Aero turned on. >_>

Do you use an Antivirus?
Some of those are very aggressive and intrusive. They can also hog a lot of processor time as well.

The sad truth is that while I use Avast and MBAM now, previously there wasn't a serious one installed.

Mostly because there was only one install for Kaspersky Internet Security and choosing between a desktop and a notebook, well... >_>
