I've been somewhat interested in it. I have some 3rd edition books -- player's manual, DM's manual, monster manual, stack of blank character sheets -- and a few d20 but none of it's ever been used.

I used to play 3rd or 3.5 Edition back in the day. Didn't get that far as we only got our characters to level 3 or so.

I was a wizard, of course.

I started with 3.5 a few years ago.

However I LOVE 5th edition! Everything made simple and to the point.

Currently I am playing in two different campaigns.

1.) With a group of five other people. We try to play at least twice a month.

2.) This one is interesting. My husband is the DM (of both games that I play) and I control four different characters. He's mainly testing his DM skills and the story over all. But I am having a blast with those four characters.

I've also played on online with Roll20.

I've played D&D for years, and my current group is just wrapping up its latest campaign now. It went on for 2 years, and we're looking to start a new one in January.

I've already settled on playing a bard this time.

Bards are fun. I played a halfling bard that used drums. Her drum sticks were also mini daggers.

Random thought: has anyone here ever tried Roll20? I hear it works pretty well, but I haven't used it myself yet.

Maybe we could get a Kafuka group going sometime. Thoughts?

As far as possible, Mondays are best for me.

I can do Sundays, unless I am watching football or playing D&D. My group normally meets once or twice a month on Sundays. Plus I am DMing a game with my husband (just the two of us).

Mondays would likely be the best fit for me as well. The way things are going, I already have 2 games starting up in January as it is.

In addition to scheduling, a couple other issues come to mind. Namely, A) who will DM, and B) who else might want in. Although I'm sure it can be done, I would feel more comfortable if there were at least three players.

If we play, I'd probably be a wizard. I'd like to play the same kind of wiz I was back in the day. Mage Armor and Mirror Image was a really good combo.

Heck no, if anything it just streamlines everything great about 3.5 and expands all sorts of flavor options. If you enjoy 3.5 or Pathfinder, I think you'll like 5th edition.

In theory, I have no problem running it. I would just ideally like at least 1 other player before I commit to this.
