Had to teach an early lab this morning... this experiment is kind of a pain, a lot of little details confusing the students. (and occasionally me :P)

Might go hang out with a friend this afternoon.

I worked on installing some stuff for a student, as well as my usual work. I am tired tonight.

Hmm... Given that I've been hearing a lot about people needing to get things done and not doing it until the last minute, I wonder how well a "What do you NEED to do" thread would do. I need to get a bunch of stuff done but lately I can't be arsed to do them. Either I have too much other stuff to do or I am just too damn tired. But this needs to get done...

I did locate a doctor's office that I'll be going to in times of medical need though. I haven't had a physical due to lack of insurance, and its been a while, so I will go get checked up. I need to also prep my truck for sale on the local online classifieds and make an appointment with my dealer to get my car checked up. Also gotta put my iPad up on the listing too.

*sigh*

Worked. First "long" shift after having a week off is one hell of a bitch. Quite an eventful day too, according to some things I heard going on..

I was watching a movie with my roommate, but she left in the middle to skype with her girlfriend. Maybe we'll finish it later? :P >_>

We were framing and hanging stuff for my dining room. Than I went with my mother to visit my brother in his group home for a while.

Usual Monday for me today... classes in the "morning" and teaching a lab in the afternoon. Tonight I have an exam though, which is a little worrying... (so of course I'm spending time posting here rather than studying)

I woke up today to find that my C:\ had 2 MB of space left.

Let me repeat that: Two MEGABYTES of space.

I did a frantic sweep to see where I could wipe some files out that weren't necessary anymore, and found that I had a whopping 12GB wrapped up in my raw video file for my Mega Man 9 race. Even though deleting it and several unused programs freed up about 20GB, I'm going to repartition since I don't need 85GB of free space on E:\. I think I'll cut the partition down to 100GB from the 145 it's at since E:\ is just where I keep things I don't want wiped if Windows blows up.

Unfortunately, I have to backup my partition and totally wipe it since Disk Management won't let me shrink the partition and easily extend C:\ over it. So much for getting to my editing in a timely manner today.

Heh, Windows' partitioner and its derpness...

I was bored in web course, and my partner wasn't here because of the snow. So I made a quick and dirty HTML+JS minesweeper.

I'd show it but there's nothing really interesting to see. It's like the Windows minesweeper with even simpler graphics.

Is there anything in there you want to keep, though?

@Trelior: Blame Steam for 100+ GB of that.

I remember back in the day on my first computer it only had a 3GB drive and we reached the sort of super-close limit all the time. (Me liking to download Sega CD ISOs didn't help)

Nowadays I haven't had to worry about space in ages, though... >_>

Why would I do that? I know Steam's not the culprit, Tera Online is.

Not to mention that I had those raw video files for my old project clogging my disk.

My first personal computer had a 6GB drive, but given what I'd do back then it wasn't a concern.

It also had no 3D graphics, and ran off Win2k. Good times.

<GreyMaria> whee, programming.
<GreyMaria> i'm taking this stupid vb.net class at community college. so far all it's taught me is eight weeks worth of why visual basic is a language worth hating with every fiber of my being
<GreyMaria> but anyway someone told me that someone had completed the course project in 85 lines of user-written code, presumably crammed together as tight as he could get it without any extra whitespace or comments
<GreyMaria> naturally, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED, and half an hour of headache later I'm staring at a program with only 84 lines of user-written code
<GreyMaria> :y

Yeah that's pretty much what I did with the first productive hour of my day.

Anyhow.. Been working today, also learned that the uniform is being updated. Going to love wearing a green shirt to work. >_>

I don't actually remember 20MB hard drives!

I may have used a computer with one, but it was one where I was not worried about hard drive space. (I shall ignore any implications of "having a 20MB hard drive meant not caring about space")

Now I feel better :P

I'd wear a green jacket. But I think we all know I like green :P

My AT 286 had a 20MB HD in it. So much room.. and so much weight added :D (those suckers are heavy.)

So, my roommate and I decided to watch some movies again- today's lineup was Reefer Madness (which is, in fact, pretty boring) and Killer Klowns from Outer Space, which is by far the best movie about space clowns I have seen to date.
