Also known as: What are You Reading?

I just started the second book in the Sword of Truth series, which was made into a TV show called Legend of the Seeker. The second book is called Stone of Tears and it is super long! This might take me a while. Terry Goodkind is the author.

Warrior Cats series. Right now on the 10th book.

Yes, it's about cats. Lots and lots of cute furry cats.

Finally, a thread after my own heart! I hope you don't mind I post in here. A lot. I'm trying to get back into reading.

So I recently bought a whole bunch of books to read for this new upcoming semester. First is The Hunger Games.... Halfway through, it's actually really cool so far! :D

Anya, I read the Sword of Truth back in, like, 7th grade... I remember NOTHING about it, and didn't continue with the series, but I don't remember it being bad. I dunno why I never continued with it.

EDIT: I've also read the Warrior Cats series. I stopped in the second "series" to it, but I really really loved it until then. I just kinda got bored at that point.

I used to read a lot when I was younger and then as I got older, I read less and less.

I started to read again after I watched Hunger Games the movie. I wanted to read the books, so I did.

I just wish I read as fast as I used to. I read so slow now. At least slow by my standards.

I read a lot as a teen, when I only had dialup Internet. Now, the Internet soaks up potential reading time.

Christopher Pike, R.L., The Babysitters Club, Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew...took up a lot of my time when I was younger.

I was about to say I haven't seen that show in AGES but I've read a lot of stories. The last one I've read was from a bit ago but for some reason I forgot its title. Bah, it is something like the Wizard's Stone or something. I can't remember.

Internet always soaks up reading time for me, too... It's almost depressing that it does. I'd just rather surf the internet than read these days. And I call myself a writer.

Bleh.

That's okay, I call myself a writer as well. We can be lazy about it together!

For me, I have to find a quiet spot to read. I try to read on my break at work, but I have to find a spot away from people. The breakroom is waaaaaaaay too loud.

I used to write bad fanfics and such, but all the writing in school ended up putting me off. It's probably better, for the sanity of the greater Internet, that most of my stories never saw the light of day.

I plan on writing actual BOOKS. I put a thread about it in the creative forum (though no one read it :P).

I tried writing a fanfic once or twice as a joke. It never ended well. I still kinda wanna write a Harry Potter fanfic called "No One Likes Ravenclaw".

Same here. I need to get out of my current job and I think this is the way. I've never been confident in what I write until a few months ago. I've always written for me but now I need to write for my readers, which is a whole different ballgame. Just finished the rough draft of my first book at around 50K words. I'm writing for young adults, mainly because that is my style. I really, really hope it works out. I've always wanted to do this, but too scared and unsure on how. Good luck with your book series. I saw the thread and I'll have a read once I get some quiet time.

I still need to post mine here and get my site more organized for my story. I do enjoy writing this huge trilogy world that has quite a few possibilities. I'm hoping to publish it someday.

I'm also listening to an audio series I forgot to mention. The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. It is somewhat like a few stories I've read but I really enjoy listening to it and the readers do a fantastic job of getting into their characters and aren't bland at all.

I need to start working on the Wheel of Time again... but I got SO MANY things to read, you don't even know! xD I stopped last time at, like, book three. And I remember so little about it I might as well start again.

I'm sure it'll work out great! :D Good luck on getting it published, and thanks. Read at your own leisure, I'm pretty sure that's a really old rough draft of stuff. I may remake a thread for my book series, or edit it with updated info. We should all make threads in the creativity forum for our books.

I did back on Jul and Acmlm's, but my worry is, why should people buy my book if they can read it online for free? Just something that bothers me and something that the publisher might say. Maybe I'm paranoid, but yea. But this isn't the thread for writing and I (or someone else) should make a general writer's thread. ;)

EDIT: Go here, writers.
