Since I finally got my new disk to boot my Windows 7 partition and got my partitions situated and sized accordingly, I figured I would share.

Feels good seeing 70% free space on C:\ and 90% free space on E:\. It's also nice to finally be rid of that retarded sub-1.5 GB Z:\ partition... I was getting tired of seeing it.

What do you guys have on your systems?

C:\ is only so small as it was pretty much cloned from my older system. I didn't want to screw with tinkering the size about.

Ouch, I didn't see this thread at all before making a similar one. My bad.

In any case (also to show my notebook has a single partition) I have this.

Previously I've used custom icons with an external program I don't quite remember the name (I remember it was inside a suite of commercial programs for tweaking Windows).
After the madness of trying to restore the original icons and programs not using their own icon anymore I sort of gave up on it. So, only standard icons here, nothing special. :)

Also, my desktop ([1], [2]) has two 500GB partitions that are not as full as this one, but still there's less than 50% of free disk space there even though all unnecessary stuff has been deleted. That may be of the combination of the 300GB+ VM folder and 60GB MAME, along with an extra 20GB of games. This, and other stuff not mentioned is a quick way to see why my HD are generally full of crap.

Oh well.

What's with you guys and your ridiculously large C drives?

I prefer to only have the OS there and programs/utilities. That way, I won't have to re-install as much if it should crash.

After deleting 80GB of useless crap (and replacing it with even worse crap which will likely be deleted at some point), well:

I put all my personal data on the external, leaving the C drive for only Windows and programs.

What OS are you on? I remember when the maximum hard drive partition size was a mere 2GB ;) You guys and your 2TB hard drives... I remember when my first hard drive was like 400MB and it seemed like a ton of space for 1994 :P

Those drive names look Linuxy to me.

And I remember the days of 166 kB (per side) floppy disks. That were actually floppy.

I just use a pair of 500GB drives. Does that make me part of the "small hard drives club" for 2014? X-P

I also remember 20MB hard drives back in the day.

Wow. Not even the family's first computer had a drive that small. I think it was at...1.6gb? Something like that.

I had a 4.2GB hard drive on my Pentium II, which was later changed out for a 20GB in 2004 ;) Had a 160GB on my XP desktop, then a 500GB, now a 2TB and a 750GB :)

My first computer had a 6GB hard drive and I'm probably by far the youngest person here.

Crazy how big they get.
