I fucked up, wrong company. I'm think of Bioware, not Blizzard.

I can't pass judgement on Diablo since I have yet to play it.

Fuck Blizzard for making a fun game. They are real assholes.

Any video game that doesn't look like this is probably terrible:

Right guys?

I have to disagree. While I'm nostalgic for old school games, there's still quite a few new ones out there that are pretty awesome, imo.

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic, what with the "fuck blizzard for making fun games" comment

Well I have to admit, I never got into modern gaming... probably since it is mostly social in nature and I'm not. :(

Maybe multiplayer games, but you don't need to be social to play them. Single Player modes are as unsociable as they have always been!

I stick to mostly the old style platform games. Only RPGs I play are the MMOs I work on as a hobby. One thing I love is playing the old mario games, or even more so DKC 1 & 2 over netplay. Those are always fun. :)

While I enjoy platformers, I'm usually more in my element in adventure/RPGs.

I still prefer RPG-type mechanics in games. That's becoming something pretty common though, which is a nice thing.

Of typical RPGs.. Tales of (insert) series is nice. Even though I only own four of them. :/

I like RPGs because they tend to have much deeper plots, but when it comes to the ability to just pick up a game and start playing, I think platformers still win out. (Grinding may be less of a necessity than in the past, but it's still there...)

i enjoy a really engaging RPG, but i haven't played one in so long. i really just enjoy casual/platformer games that you can just sit down and play and walk away from.
the older i get, though, the harder i find it to even beat games, i've gotten 2/3rds through so many games and just never picked them up (like FFXIII). although i finally did beat Ocarina of Time ... on the 3DS.

my feelings can be summed up in this picture msprout posted earlier in this very thread

I'd guess that comes from a slight lack of patience, time or concentration as a result of aging.

I have only a couple of unfinished ones that I know I haven't finished.. but everything else, I've gone to the end once or more.

I used to love RPG games, but now I've turned more into a strategy and simulation fanatic.

It doesn't really help that there hasn't been much in the way of new, good RPGs lately :/

I think the main issue with that is that developers nowadays seem more interested in games with high gameplay to story ratios, and either throw a shitty story together or drown an otherwise good story in pointless gimmicks.

I had an amazing thought while listening to the Skyward Sword orchestrated music CD.

<12:04.06> <~GreyMaria> What they need to do is rerelease Ocarina of Time... re-done to look like Twilight Princess.
<12:04.18> <~GreyMaria> And then do it again, but Wind Waker style.

I would buy and play both of them.

Then they should remake Ocarina of Time to make it look like Zelda II.
