'grats. You now have a faster CPU (for now) and faster RAM than I do. And I see you got a water-cooler for your CPU.

There are air-coolers than can perform equally good, though.

However, my new GPU has you beat. It's an Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB DC2. :P

What's the specs of that "fucking monster"?

Actually, I do remember we have a thread for that.

It's nothing spectacular but as a frame of reference I'm coming from a 2009ish slim office computer

CPU: AMD FX-6300 6 core 3.5ghz
RAM: 8gb duel channel DDR3 @ 800MHz
Motherboard: MSI 760GMA-p34(FX)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
Hardrive: 1TB

Running windows 8 which I'm starting to like

Are those RAM sticks really at the correct speed?

It pains me to say this but...congrats. You now have a more powerful rig than I do. :P

Well, I just upgraded my motherboard and CPU. Pretty much the same as before, but I now pack a 3.5GHz AMD FX6300 6-core CPU.

Minor case of Necromancy.. but it'd be interesting to know what the latest generation of Kafukans have.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
CPU: AMD FX6300 Black Edition (6 cores @ 3.5Ghz)
RAM: 16GB DDR3 HyperX Fury
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750Ti (2GB)
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB
HDD: Samsung 500GB
Optical Drives: Samsung BD-ROM.
Monitor: Dell SX22210T (1920x1080 Touchscreen)
Keyboard: SteelSeries Apex 350
Mouse: SteelSeries Rival 100
Networking: Asus PCE-AC56

You can see exactly what changed since my last full update.. or what didn't.
I no longer have the SD reader, as it died - it kept constantly powering on and off, which led to an endless steam of usb connected/disconnected notifications. It remains in my case as to not have a hole.

Dude, I Got A Dell Pony Porn Repository #9
Intel Core i7-2620M @ 2.70 GhZ times two
8.00 GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, American English.

1920x1080 display with Intel and nVidia chipsets, GeForce GT 525M.

DVD: HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GS30N

S key sticks and tends to repeat, 2 key is following it into despair. All arrow keys but up are limp noodles -- they work fine, but don't give any tactile feedback.

My main computer, actually a first generation netbook.

Intel Atom N270 @ 1.6Ghz
Intel GMA 945
1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
160 GB HDD
Windows XP SP3 Home

Other things:
Atheros AR5B95 WLAN adaptor
IDT Audio
Realtek USB 2.0 card reader

Yes, very poor specs, but I actually don't do anything intense other than PSX emulation (through pSX) and virtualisation of pre-XP OSes. Opera 12 runs fine on it, and works for some sites I use. I keep SeaMonkey and Otter Browser as backups.

I upgraded.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Case:Corsair 300R Windowed Edition
Motherboard: Asus TUF X470-PLUS Gaming
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM: 16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX (2400Mhz)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB
HDD: Samsung 500GB
Optical Drives: Samsung BD-ROM.
Monitor: Dell SX22210T (1920x1080 Touchscreen)
Keyboard:SteelSeries Apex M750
Razer Orbweaver Chroma
Mouse: SteelSeries Rival 310
Networking: Asus PCE-AC56

My main keyboard is officially "none" as the SteelSeries Apex has died via power failure. Replacement will be a Logitech G213 Prodigy.
Keyboard Replaced.
Tartarus V2 had a switch break. Update: Semi-fixed that. Update 2: Broke again.
Keyboard shuffled again. The G213 broke already. Upgraded mouse as part of a deal.

Here you go.. <_< >_>
Dell Inspiron 9200 Laptop
This one is my main laptop.
OS: Windows XP or Lubuntu 18.04 (depending on which hard drive is inserted)
Hard Drive: 40GB x2 (only one can be inserted at once)
Internal SD: 8GB, only works reliably under Linux
RAM: 1.5GB
CPU: Pentium M 2.0Ghz
GPU: Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128MB of VRAM
Disc Drive: Some generic CD/DVD drive
Ethernet: 100Mbps max

Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop
Junk laptop I bought off a friend
OS: Windows XP
Hard Drive: 60GB
RAM: 256MB
CPU: Pentium M 1.6Ghz
GPU: Mobility Radeon X300 with 64MB of VRAM
Disc Drive: Some generic CD/DVD drive
Ethernet: 100Mbps max

Powerbook G4 Laptop
Cool Powerbook I bought off eBay
OS: OS X Tiger 10.4.11
Hard Drive: 40GB
RAM: 640MB
CPU: G4 867Ghz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce4 Go 420 with 32MB of VRAM
Disc Drive: Broken CD drive...
Ethernet: 10Mbps max

Emachines W3503 Desktop
I usually just use this for media playback, but sometimes I'll swap out the video card, and then it becomes relatively powerful.
OS: Lubuntu 18.04
Hard Drive: 1TB. WOW! (Linux uses a 250GB partition. 300GB for media. Other junk is allocated for swap and multiboot plans)
RAM: 2GB
CPU: Pentium 4 HT 3.2Ghz (with 64 bit support)
GPU 1: Some trashy ATI video card I use solely because of working S-Video. You don't know the troubles of finding a video card in which the S-Video actually works under Linux.
GPU 2: ASUS Radeon HD 5450 with 1GB of VRAM (most powerful video card!)
Disc Drive: Sweet Lightscribe drive
Ethernet: 100mbps max

Dell Powershell 400SC Desktop
Computer I rarely use. May use it for a secondary server at some point
OS: Lubuntu 16.04 and Windows XP x64
Hard Drives: 60GB and 40GB
RAM: 1.5GB
CPU: Pentium 4 HT 3.0Ghz
GPU: Some old junky Nvidia
Disc Drives: One DVD/CD drive.
Disk Drive: One 3 1/2 drive
Ethernet: 1Gbps max

Proteva TOUCH Desktop
Awesome retro machine
OS: Windows 95, Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000 (broken), MS-DOS 6.22, Red hat linux 5 (needs bootloader reinstalled), OS/2 Warp 4, Windows NT4, Plan9Front, Novell Netware 5.1 (needs new SYS partition)
Hard Drives: 30GB, 20GB, 10GB
