EDIT: Probably ought to start us off with an example, huh? One of the more recent moments for me was at the close of the first section of Dragon Quest V. Your hero is on a quest to save Harry, the Prince of Coburg from being sold into slavery. You meet up with your father, Pankraz, about halfway through the dungeon and find your way to the cell they're holding Harry in. After finding him, you make your way back toward the capitol of Coburg, but not without a hitch... You get stopped right at the exit by Overlord Nimzo's right hand man, Bishop Ladja, and you're forced to watch (in a battle scene, no less) Ladja's henchmen beating Pankraz to death because he's threatening him with your life by holding a scythe to your throat. What got me was the fact that after your dad gets beaten within an inch of his life and mentions on his dying breath your objective in your quest, he gets obliterated by a fireball... Nothing left of him at all. Your pet great sabrecat cub is left behind while you and Harry are abducted and forced into slavery to build a sacrilegious temple... As the screen fades to black, your cat lays there alone, atop Pankraz's ashes. |

You guys apparently don't appreciate the Star Wars reference I was making by posting the top comment with the video. I wasn't saying the episode was good, I was just pointing out that the scene is humorous in its own light. |

I played some Super Mario Galaxy yesterday, I got a few stars and 'finished' a few galaxies, like Freezeflame and Dusty Dune. I think my star total is 60 now. |

I've been dinking around a bit in Paper Mario again, just finished Chapter 2 and am still on the pre-chapter stupid self-imposed runaround... I'm not happy about how the mail side quest takes you from Dry Dry Outpost where you get the first letter of a series that takes you to Goombario's house, to Peach's Castle ruin, to Koopaville, to Toad Town Harbor, back to Koopville, then BACK TO DRY DRY OUTPOST! Why in the hell did they feel it necessary to have that much stupid backtrackiness, especially with how slow Mario walks. |
