What's the closest estimate you have to the amount of pancakes you've eaten in your life?
I don't know. Maybe a hundred or so. I don't have pancakes very often. Last time you were humiliated by a girl in a game? I don't keep track of the genders of the people I play games with. I also don't tend to be elitist about the games I play, so what someone would consider "humiliation" probably doesn't even register to me as that. The better question is: Who cares? |

What qualities do you look for in a good game?
Gameplay, story, and aesthetics. What was your least favorite subject in school? Probably literature. Shit was boring. Can you explain the Despacito meme to me? The what? There's an actual meme assocaited with that retarded song? if you had the ability to effortlessly alter any aspect or detail from a single game, what would it be? It'd be nice if Gen 1 Pokemon wasn't a janktastic mess. |

I'm slogging my way through Pokemon Quest, despite how fucking bad that game is. Trying to prove to myself that it's beatable without paying to win.
Go fucking figure that it looked like a mobile game to begin with, now this shit is actually on android and iOS. |

What goes on a hot dog?
If I'm getting them from Sheetz. I usually order nacho cheese and onion on them. If it's a normal barbecue, then I typically just do some ketchup, onion, and relish. Ice cream or popcorn? Typically ice cream. I tend to not like popcorn most of the time. I prefer sweet to salty. |

Got my hands on Puyo Puyo Tetris a week or so ago and plowed through story mode.
It showed me the rift in my skill between both games. I'm far better at Tetris than I'll probably ever be at Puyo. I can chain several Tetris clears without an issue, while getting more than a 3-chain in Puyo takes a lot of effort for me to on on purpose. A lot of the challenges where the goal was "Score 2000-5000 points in two minutes (or less)" in Tetris, I would blow out of the water and score 30k-50k with the majority of the time still on the clock. Whereas, it says "Score 1000 points and win the match" for Puyo, I end up with 600 points and a pity win because the AI seems to understand that I'm beyond awful. The one mode that infuriates me if Fusion. The strategies I use in Tetris get fucked over because of Puyo crushing mechanics, and the fact that garbage blocks are integral to counter comboing. The concept just baffles me. |

I somehow totally DESTROYED in this Swap match. I won on both boards. Between the active J, the held L, the upcoming T and I, I got a triple that bumped the opposing Tetris board over the edge with a triple. I don't know how I did it, but I kept my Puyo board really clean. The score was mostly from my Tetris-ing. |

The problem being that all I care to do right now is Heaven on High (which will get boring and useless after I get the rapier (That RDM life) from it), the new MSQ (which isn't very long), the new Hildibrand quests (been putting them off), and (hands down the least fun of it all) the Animus stage for seven more relics. |

Been chipping away at Octopath Traveler. It's pretty good. My only major gripe is how seriously they take the "You are [protagonist]" at the beginning of the game. I picked H'aanit, discovered I hated her because her speech is Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe, and didn't know I couldn't cycle her out of the party until I wanted to kick her out for Olberic's chapter 1. The game said "You can't replace your protagonist". If I had realised that, I would have started as Ophilia or Primrose, because I actually like those two quite a bit.
I'm about 18 hours in, I've recruited everyone, now i'm starting on their second chapters. Primrose's was pretty easy after I figured out how to deal with Rufus' Pummel attack putting my party out of commission for upwards of four turns. Therion's boss killed all four of my party members in one shot because I didn't reduce him to Break quickly enough. I had sank a good 20 minutes into the battle, too. I spent a good hour after I reloaded going from town to town and stealing everything that wasn't nailed down (damn near anything with a 55+% success rate), I also went out of my way to save scum two 15% items (crescent knives, because they're the stinging knife's direct upgrade and the poison proc is fantastic). My team for Therion's chapter is: H'aanit level 21 with sub Apothecary (single target heals are nice, and Vivify is actually useful), Ophilia level 20 with sub Dancer (the cross-job knife proficiency is too useful to switch her off of it), Primrose level 16 sub Scholar (fire, ice, and lightning are nice, as well as having the ability to examine targets for HP tracking), and Therion level 18 sub Merchant (The Thief/Merchant combo is indispensable for support. BP recovery, SP refilling without using plums, then being able to huck it at the other party members is too good to pass up). EDIT: I think I should add that I only hate H'aanit's speech pattern. Her story is fair enough, and she's not horrible in combat (I don't like how Linde attacks randomly, both in attack type as well as target, nut all monsters you catch strike a random taregt, but at least they only give you a single fucking attack). I just hate the way she, and everyone from her hometown, talks. |

To no one's surprise, still playing Final Fantasy XIV. Startiung to burn out again though, which is bad because I'm only on my fourth of fifteen weapons in Eureka Pagos, and Pyros is right around the corner.
A friend of my roommate got me back into World of Warcraft, he paid for my pass into Battle for Azeroth, so I used the free level boost to take a Warlock to current content. Been playing for, like, four days and I've already sworn off PUGing content. Had a healer in Freehold being a total raging fuckwit. Insisted we skip trash packs, and would freak the fuck out when we face pulled packs at the bridge choke points. Then the asshat thought it'd be hilarious to yank me out of combat where I'm helping my friend kill the shit that we were abandoned to deal with. My breaking point was when the fucker yanked me INTO an aoe I dodged just because my Black Mage-ing in FFXIV taught me how to minimalistically dodge aoes to keep my casting uptime rolling. I hate the community in WoW, and they wonder why they can't keep me playing. |

I don't consciously think about it, but I tend to do fingertip, but claw when I need to use the navigation buttons (I overwrote their forward/back with shift/ctrl, super handy in games).
Claw makes my hand hurt something fierce after a while though. |

I played Smash Ultimate through World of Light, as a purist run as Kirby. He survived, he saves them all.
Started a second run to try to force myself to play as Lucas. World of Light is nt a good place to learn advanced play with a new character since a lot of stages boil down to FOO strategy. In most cases, that's PK Smash Geyser (up tilt), because even on even ground with your spirit against the opponent, it hits for 40-70 damage on a mid charge. Either that, or they bumble into you impatiently, or don't attempt to escape. Got my hands on Tales of Vesperia: DE the other day, not sure how I feel about it. I like it so far in terms of story and some of the gameplay. Trying to remember how Xillia played, but the differences are subtle enough to mess with me. In terms of the port, I think Bamco just shat it out and shoved it out the door, which is not what I would call "definitive". In the interaction scenes with the portaits of the party members, it's pretty egregious at how badly they did the slap job. In the cases where a character's portrait slides away to signify that they're walking away from the group, the portait's movement is jagged and jumpy. It honestly looks like a novice video editor trying to do an animation of movement by sliding the portrait away manually, a frame at a time, then getting impatient and moving the portrait several pixels over, then giving up entirely. Very sloppy. I understand that they weren't able (or probably didn't even try) to get the voice cast back together, and the characters they didn't bring back are noticeable with headphones because the audio has a layer of crust on it that is pretty distinct to early PS3/Xbox360-era games. This is most noticeable on Yuri, and a few NPCs (Teddy's mother at the very beginning of the game come readily to mind), and it's kinda jarring. It hasn't pushed me away from the game, but I certainly don't feel like I have a lot of time at the moment, but that's for a different novella of a post for a different time. |
