I take pride in being the first "normal" person to post in this thread, even if I'm ex-staff.

In all the billions of reboots this forum has gone through, I've never posted in a first thread. Teehee, I feel special. Also, I may be back for real this time, but since I said that last time, I might be lying.

Yah dood, I honestly have no idea who you are. I was told you were one of the guys who was here originally, which I can see because I was mostly only here for Board2's run.

But yes, hopefully we won't have to continue rebooting.

Howdy, mates. I dunno if you guys know, but I'm a writer. As in, writer of books, and I've been working on planning out this series of books for the past year almost. It's called "The Chronicles of Freilia". Based in the high fantasy world of Freilia, the chronicles follows the world throughout the annals of its history, from the birth of man to the apocalypse. I'm currently working on a book in the series known tentatively as "Striking Inferno", where a group of heroes is sent to slay the God of Inferno.

Basically I just wanna get word out about my book. I wanna know what people think of the overall history, soooo I wrote a rough draft of the history of the world! Yaaaaay here it is:

http://marzen64.deviantart.com/art/The-History-of-Freilia-255053062

Go ahead and give 'er a looksee. If you guys leik, I can post the first chapter of the book :D

Criticisms and questions welcome. I've already gotten stuff like "How come the God of Time didn't know this was going to happen", and "How could they not tell the God of Darkness was going to rebel" and all that stuff, but TRUST ME I HAVE REASONS. If you're confused simply ask.

I went to Gamestop to see if they had Fire Emblem, Path of Radiance. They did, but they ALSO had another game.... A certain Final Fantasy 13, for only 8 dollars. Path of Radiance was 26. I got both, against my better judgement.

So I've been playing FF13 for the past little while and.... well it's boring. And pretty bad. I can't see myself really beating it, but hey, who knows?

Well, in my personal opinion, if I gotta wait 50 hours for the game to get good, it's not really worth playing. I'm just playing it to say "Hey, I played FF13". Nonetheless, I may stick with it if I'm not distracted by far better games... Like Skyward Sword, something else I've been playing recently.

Out of the games you mentioned, I'd suggest Wind Waker and Thousand Year Door the most. I never played Pokemon XD, but I THINK it's similar to Colosseum, in which case ehhh. Super Paper Mario was ok, but TYD was far better.

How is that, by the way? I used to play D2 religiously, and I wanna know if I should get D3 or not. I haven't really looked up anything on it in, like... a year, so I dunno much of what's going on in it.

There's a blacksmithing function in game now, where you break down items into raw materials and use them to make new awesomesauce. Gold, stash space, and your blacksmith recepies are available to all characters on your account. Which makes it a little easier to gear up and level up a new character class.

Heh, seems like many games these days are adding in blacksmithing feature. Oh well, I don't mind, I always like having more layers to a game and more way to get items than just "Oh God I hope this guy drops something good".

Posted by Ryudo
each of the classes in the game has a different attribute they work off of (eg: barbarians need to generate rage to execute some attacks, wizards use arcane power, etc). You can only have a set number of abilites readily available at any given time, which increases with level. But you can swap out active abilities whenever you're in town and for free.

Huh. That sounds like they added in the whole WoW deal, where not everyone has a mana-bar, but some other kind of bar (Warriors having rage, same deal). I guess that's fine, if I didn't expect WoW aspects to move into D3 I'd have to be insane. And hey, I enjoyed WoW, so I'm not really complaining. Also, as for the ability swapping, I guess I can't be against that either because, well, it's not like I used all my old abilities ANYWAY. I'd just buy a few or get multiples that I don't need so I can finish the skill tree.

I actually heard from someone that the Mayan calander was scientifically proven to be off by several million years, but if I believed what everyone was saying, I'd be freaking out about this December. Which I'm not.

My New Years was uneventful, same as the last month. I'm just vegging out on vacation after all. My new years resolution though? Don't fuck up my college classes this time. I could lose my damn scholarship if I do that again.

I brought mine in from Board2 as well, but it's... rather bland. It's always been bland, I HAD a good one but Stark deleted it years ago and I've lost the code to time. Oh well.

I dunno, I'm not assed to create one anyway so this'll have to do. By the way, KP, I friggin' love your layout. I'm pretty sure you've heard that by now.

I'd probably have gotten out of the house and gotten laid.

And died of an STD somewhere cold and alone.

Nonetheless HELLO OLDBIES :D. I lurked way back then too but literally no one remembers me from those days cause that's ALL I did (I was one of the guys who hung around Iceboard and Romendo more). I came into prominence around the Board2 era here, for several years. Ahhh the good ol' days.

What's been your biggest computer-related problem that's been Hell to fix?

This summer, I bought a Dell. That right away should tell you how the story ends, but I got a Dell cause it had way more RAM than anything else in the store, and I needed something that was about 700 bucks to also get the 360 deal. So I bought it, and within weeks it had problems (Crashing, blue screens, turned on in the middle of the night). Finally, three months after getting it, the screen cracked. Probably my fault, as I brought it EVERYWHERE with me at college.

Nonetheless, I sent it in to Dell to be fixed, because it was obviously still under warranty. Two weeks later, I got it back. It worked for a week, then flat out turned off and refused to turn back on. No lights came on the computer, and if I COULD get it to turn on it turned off as soon as I touched it. I called Dell, they sent me ANOTHER box, and I sent it back for them to look at and fix.

They gave it back to me two weeks later. It wasn't fixed. They had a message saying "Thank you, we had our best people look at it, we fixed your fan" but as I called them, they admitted that no one looked at it and it was just sent back to my house without being fixed at all. That was a giant insult, so I was obviously getting kinda pissed. They sent someone to my HOUSE to fix it. The person they sent missed when they were supposed to be here, twice. Finally, several days later she fixed my computer by taking out the old motherboard and putting in a new one. Apparently something in it snapped off and broke, I'm not a big hardware person.

So I had a working computer again, BUT it broke two weeks later. Again. SAME PROBLEM. So I called them, again, and they sent someone out, AGAIN. He came when he was supposed to, at least, and fixed it. I didn't move the computer from where it was, but just sat there and played Civ4 for a few hours. Finally, I was gonna go back to my room when I picked it up and it broke again.

By this time, Dell basically said "fuck it" and just sent me a new computer. I guess they learned that it was costing them more money to send out people and cheap motherboards to fix it than it would be to just give me a new fucking computer. The new computer has problems too, it has weird sound problems and it crashes every now and then when the video card crashes. Nonetheless, this is the biggest problem I've ever had a computer give me. And I'm REALLY bad with computers.

SO, has anyone had an annoying problem with their computers that just couldn't go away?

Except he was a creepy puppet fucker, but that's beside the point. It's a bit less boring than my old one.

Name: Gray Wrensonn

Sex: Male

Age: 28

Race: Human

Height: 6 feet 2 inches

Weight: 126 lbs

Occupation: Archaeologist, Relic Thief, Treasure Hunter, Explorer, Tangemancer

Appearance: Humble, rat-like face with a long crooked nose. Long neck, tall and skinny body with cuts and bruises all over it, greasy and short black hair. Has an uneven stubble-beard.

Attire: Wears a brown duster jacket, old aviator's cap, goggles, old raggedy pants, a brown leather pack, and old patched up boots that have seen better days. Has a very old looking watch that has the ability to let him teleport through dimensions by changing the hands on the clock.

Personality: He's a determinator, once he gets an idea he'll stick to it no matter what. However, when he DOESN'T have an idea, he'd rather save his own skin than go for others. This doesn't make him an asshole, he's relatively polite and won't actively insult you or hate you, but he thinks that if he'd get hurt helping someone else, it'd be better just to ignore the situation. He's unusually quick and clever, able to see through traps and tricks, and is a fast speaker. He makes up for his humble appearance by being very charismatic.

History: Gray was born on the planar realm of Wren, a magitek endowed world that is now completely destroyed. He lived a simple life there, fixing up old artifacts that they found, until his world was destroyed by a man of the name Sebastian. During the chaos that ensued, he found a watch called the Watch of the Architect. There is one watch located on each dimension that the Architect created. Using this watch, Gray escaped the destruction of his world. He now searches for some kind of way to fix his world and bring back his dead loved ones.

Skills and Abilities:
Tangemancy, which is the ability to know information just from touching something. His tangemancy has an affinity for artifacts. For example, he can tell where an artifact was made, by whom, and what its purpose was by just touching it and focusing his energy into it.
Diplomacy
Acrobatics, he's very nimble
Teleportation between realms, while he's not able to decide where to go when he teleports into another dimension, and he can't move from one location to another in the same dimension, he can at least move between them using his watch.

Weapons:
An old flintlock pistol
A knife

Also, I dunno what people's fascination is with void rays. I play Protoss, I don't use them.
