When I was little, I believed that sex was an optional step in making a baby. I remember thinking, "if you don't HAVE to do it, why would you?" |

I think the last movie I saw in the theater was the new Planet of the Apes. Not bad by any means, but not memorable, either.
A couple of nights ago, I saw 127 Hours because a friend recommended it. Definitely had my eyes/ears closed for about a third of it. |

Super simple dinner, just leftovers from the previous day. Rice with chirimen sansho, grilled arabesque greenling, and a simmered dish of chicken, taro root, and carrots. The boyfriend is gone on a business trip, so I don't even bother taking it out of the tupperware

Posted by GreyMariaPosted by Mesia Actually, yes, it did. In fact, now I spend my time thinking about the opposite: how to have sex without making a baby |

Posted by Kawa Well, uh... without getting into too much detail, let's just say that they definitely aren't 100% foolproof. Other beliefs... I don't think this counts as a "belief" per se, but after having a dream as a child that monsters grew out of the toys I left strewn on my floor, I became incapable of sleeping at night if the room was messy. And it continues until today |

I've been waiting for this one for awhile! I've seen all of Anderson's films, most of which I really liked, some not so much. But I'll definitely see Moonrise Kingdom when I have the chance (hopefully it'll show in Japan, too...)
That's so cool that you got to help build set pieces! Did you get to keep anything after filming was finished? |

1. Dust all the surfaces in my apartment.
2. Start working on a presentation for Thursday (on ambiguity in Japanese fairy tales). 3. Cook dinner. What kind of wine? |

Lain from Serial Experiments Lain.
I saw the series when I was in either 8th or 9th grade, thought it was cool (or at least iconic), and so I used Lain for my old Acmlm userpic. Now I'm just using it for nostalgia's sake (or because I'm too lazy to make something better). |

Soft tacos... mmm.
I made another easy dinner. At least this time it's on actual plates. Nikujaga (thinly sliced beef, potatoes, carrots, onion, shirataki noodles), stir fried spinach and ground pork, and white rice with chirimen sansho. Too much meat? |

I voted for 6 and 7--the usual favorites. To me, they're the darkest and most "epic" chapters in the series. |

Sunny, cold, dry as a bone. We haven't had rain in over a month now, but supposed to have rain/snow mix over the weekend. Great. |

Posted by Trapster This is chirimen sansho The spinach dish was really good! The seasonings made it taste not so... spinach-y? Why do so many people hate onions? |

1. What's your favorite season (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) and why?
Whichever season I'm not currently in. There's something to like about every season, though. 2. What's your favorite genre of video games? RPGs, puzzle games, platformers. 3. Retro or modern games? Retro, but only because I've stopped playing new games. 4. Are you on a laptop or desktop? MacBook Pro laptop, but I'm wishing I had a PC... 5. What OS do you run? Mac OS X 10.6.8 6. What's your favorite movie genre? Children's movies. 7. What brought you to Kafuka? Emuz 8. Do you have any siblings? If so, how do you like them? One sister that's 4 years older. We've never really had a good relationship, even when we were kids. 9. Are you right handed or left handed? Righty. 10. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? The kind of rich, fresh milk ice cream that they sell at dairy farms. So simple, so good. 11. What was your first Acmlmboard experience? Waaay back in 2001. 12. What was the last book you read? The last book I completed reading was probably a text for my thesis. Currently I'm reading a book about Japanese poetry. 13. What's your favorite webcomic? (links please) I don't read webcomics. Used to read Penny Arcade back in the day. 14. What's your favorite midnight snack? Cup noodles. 15. Do you sleep on your front, side or back? Side, mostly. 16. How do you deal with headaches? Sleep them off. 17. What's your favorite food? I don't have extreme likes or dislikes when it comes to food. I'm such an adult. 18. Are you a day person, or night person? Day, definitely. 19. Do prefer hot drinks or cold drinks? Hot. All the best drinks are hot: coffee, tea, cocoa... also cold drinks are bad for you. 20. What is your occupation? Eternal student. 21. Do you travel? If so, what other countries/states have you been to? Not too much. I'm not interested in seeing places so much as I like going to see my friends in their home towns/countries. So far, all over the US, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Austria, Slovakia. |

So far, it has snowed twice in the past five days. Last night we got slammed by a snow storm that resulted in 4-5 cm of white stuff all over the city. It was beautiful when it was coming down, but it definitely wasn't fun walking around in the icy, sloshy, dirty mess the next morning. |
