I tend to disagree. Nostalgia isn't hurting anybody, and it's a bit glib to instantly refer to the discussion of the past as a 'circlejerk.'

i also have changed. it's been like 10 or 11 years for me too and the kid i was then wouldn't even recognize who i am now. like, physically even. i learned how to put on clothes that fit! it's awesome!

also i finally touched boobs. and they're actually pretty great.

heck i even made this cartoon to describe the sudden discrepancy:
