EXCUSE ME, sprout. three things:
1. my moustache is deadly serious (also relatively new!).
2. i wear contacts.
3. i definitely just tried to search for you on facebook by typing "sprout" and it didn't work.

mesia, when i was visiting my parents around christmas, i found a letter you wrote to me when we were youngins. there was a picture of you with a bunch of other people and a lot of funny margin notes. if i had known this board was going to be a thing and that i was going to post on it, i would have scanned it!

could be. i don't have the credentials for anything on zophar.net, so it's amusingly frozen in time, and i don't remember where i uploaded anything.

obviously i waited for the right moment so that i could get post 69, haha.

here's my story so far:

- apparently had several large holes blown through my brain during puberty, blurring most of my memory of the thousands of hours i spent on message boards in high school. that could maybe explain why i started flipping out and eventually just disappeared.
- went to college and got a degree in digital media design and went to a lot of indie rock shows.
- went through a few flash and web design jobs. did various graphic design stuff for fun on the side.
- got a different web design job moved from philly to to new york
- did the graphics for this iphone game
- fell into an internet time warp and landed here

I always try to make my layouts look good on 1024 pixels of width, for netbook and tablet compatibility.
mSprout's layout does not seem to fit that (BTW do we have blocklayout?).

PSH WHO USES NETBOOKS LOL

i too stare disconcertingly at the board and ponder the degree to which i look like a total scumbag these days.

i was totally trolling with the netbooks comment, but i actually have one too. i use an old aspire one as my portable karaoke machine. powerful enough to run pykaraoke, enough space to store ~130 gigs of songs, cheap enough that i don't care if someone pukes all over it and i have to replace it.

for legit computing and browsing, i have an 11" macbook air and a 27" imac. the air is humorously tiny-looking, but actually quite comfortable to work on when i'm out. that said, browsing maximized isn't appropriate on the medium-to-large displays nowadays. i'm of the opinion that 960px is the magic width for content when designing sites. hits close enough to the lowest common denominator and leaves a little room on the sides for any background flourishes.

as for font sizes, my eyesight has deteriorated quite a bit over the past few years, and being far-sighted as it is, i don't mind the trend toward larger font sizes, especially since displays are trending toward higher pixel density anyhow.

it's cold as shit. felt like 10˚f this morning. it's like 27˚ now.

some guy at the bagel shop told me we're due for 5 feet of snow in new york this year and that he bought a 4x4 on craigslist just in case. claims that he reads the farmer's almanac so he knows, but isn't sure that the 4x4 can handle 5 feet of snow.

i've heard the mario comparison a couple times, but i'll admit my moustache hair isn't really curly. once i can get the sides long enough to twirl them up with a little wax, it may be back to looking like i'm a teenager, hah.

it is an awesome sofa! it's actually behind me, since my computer doubles as my tv, and my apartment is tiny. i got it from my grandfather after he threw a seven and have been hanging onto it ever since. when i moved in here, i actually had to saw the back legs off to get it through the narrow door. it's currently propped up on one side by a stack of books since i did a shitty job reattaching the legs and one broke when too many people sat on it at once

as for santa, i like having a light-up lawn friend watching over me indoors.
