First 3 worlds in 27:02 (a race I just did a hour ago on Speedrunslive)

I'm not the best player ever, and I had a few bad deaths that cost a few minutes, but this should give a good sample of what to expect from me :)

Tomorrow night for a race here should be fine for me as well ...

Mine seem to be mostly yellow and grey:
- WinAMP (yellow/white)
- Sound (grey on XP)
- Safely remove device (grey/green)
- G15 keyboard profiler (grey)
- BringWndTop (yellow with some green/cyan)

But I sometimes get red and blue when using ffdshow :P

I had a much better start than before, but that went to hell once I got to world 5 (the end of world 7 was the worst part), so it ended up a few minutes slower than my previous attempt >_>

-a recommended emulator set

- NES: Nestopia, FCEUX
- SNES: Snes9x (1.51 and up), snesgt (but I use bsnes >_>)
- Genesis: Kega Fusion, maybe Regen or Gens
I've rarely raced games on other consoles yet, but I could list them later too ...

-how to stream

Most use XSplit (I haven't tried it but it can do multiple screen captures, use video devices, and should be easy to use) and stream on twitch.tv.

My own setup is a bit more complicated, though :) (and I use Flash Media Encoder)

I stream in 600x448 30fps 500kbps H.264 + 64kbps MP3 (at least for all consoles in 4:3 and 240p/480i), which gives good quality most of the time, but you can go lower if your CPU or bandwidth isn't good enough :P

Speedrunslive info and sign up location

http://speedrunslive.com/

It's all explained in the FAQ there, but you just need to connect to irc.speeddemosarchive.com and join #speedrunslive, set your IRC nick to whatever name you want to use in races (and /ns register), and use the bot commands (listed on the main page).

I'm 28 and my metabolism is still going as strong as ever, keeping me at 120-125lbs (20-21 BMI at 5'5") without any effort :)

But once that changes, I'll definitely have to start exercising and watching my calories >_>

takeown /f C:\windows /r
takeown /f C:\progra~1 /r
takeown /f C:\progra~2 /r
cacls C:\windows /t /e /c /g Administrator:F
cacls C:\progra~1 /t /e /c /g Administrator:F
cacls C:\progra~2 /t /e /c /g Administrator:F
(if I remembered it right)
It breaks most of the improved security and UAC's purpose, but at least makes Vista/7 usable when you're used to full permissions and want to change some system/program files :P (and I do that a lot, to delete some bloat and give everything a retro feel)

I still use Windows XP at home, on a high end computer from 2009 (and still decent now), purely by choice >_>

I've been on Vista and 7 for years at work, and it still hasn't pushed me to update ... there's only a few small things I'd call improvements over XP, and too many changes I don't like (or don't care about):

- 64bit support is nice, but nearly everything is still 32bit, and I still don't need 4GB RAM
- Task moving/peeking in the taskbar is useful, but I set it to work like XP's anyway
- I never liked Vista/7's start menu (or even XP's), and the old start menu is gone in 7
- I can't stand Vista/7's Explorer either (I use an alternate file manager instead), and it can't be tweaked like XP's (just give me a simple layout with a working status bar)
- I never cared for 256x256 icons (or anything above 32x32), or cycling wallpapers that automatically compress to JPG unless you use workarounds
- A lot of the other "user friendly" changes only get in the way and smell like bloat to me
- WinSxS is a huge mess that "fixed" DLL hell by introducing another hell with gigabytes of bloat (having multiple versions of a .dll for compatibility is fine, but I don't need copies/hardlinks for every single file)
- There's still nothing I need/want that requires Vista/7, at least for now

At least I can still live with it after enough tweaking and hacking, and I've gotten mostly used to it already, so it won't be all that bad once I'm forced to drop XP >_> (next computer, maybe)

Bloatware installed on top of Windows on a new PC (and wasting more space than Windows itself) is true for any version, that's nothing new ... and XP does have its share of bloat and programs/features I never use (like Movie Maker and Media Player), but that's why I delete some of it :P

I'm usually running about 30 processes on both XP and 7 (but with more multitasking on XP), disabling some services and background processes helps >_>

95.1GB used, with nearly 10GB spent on videos lately ... who needs 2TB drives, or even the 500GB I have (really 465) >_>

C: is my system/program partition, E: is a leftover from trying Windows 7 RC1 (never bothered to repartition after emptying it), S: is where the pagefile and temp stuff goes, and F: is for everything else ... and I do keep a lot of old stuff, actually :P

getting to lvl 125 off what was it a poring?

I'd hate to think of how long time that'd take.
Grind normally until 124 +99.9%, kill gradually weaker enemies until a poring is enough ... but I liked to use something different for each character as well >_>

I didn't use "Milly" until 2003, and it only stayed that long because I dropped inactive after one of the sex change periods >_>

I also had "Acmilly" before that, and Acmilia as a separate user :P

I never had one myself (or any handheld until the DS Lite), but a friend did and I played Link's Awakening on it for a while (and some Tetris), fun times :) Also played a little bit of Mario Land 1 and 2 in class once ...

My sister should also remember getting a GameBoy Color and Pokemon Yellow, and eventually each of the later handhelds and generations >_>

Also can't forget the burnt GameBoy (from the gulf war) that still works 20 years later, it's really made of nintendium :P

10 years ago was right at the end of my GunBound addiction, to be replaced by twilightRO soon after ... I was spending more time in there than on my board (which had just been wiped), at least I was still on IRC :P

This was also when I still lived with my grandparents and was in the middle of university, and had just turned 20 the previous year ... just going to my old room whenever I visit them again (like on Easter recently) brings back memories :)

My first one was probably in September 2001 when I had just added the feature (that only went up to Reinfors Syndrome ++ at the time), I almost averaged it daily still >_>

Last time would be in late 2009 at Jul (if I even did hit it at all), otherwise I'm not even sure anymore :P
