I mostly use an ad-blocker to block unwanted scripts or anything of the sort.

Also, I don't get why most people feel the need to make complicated webpages code-wise, I can very easily create a very modern-looking website that occupies less than 1MB of space, with just HTML5 and standard CSS mind you (and a bit of JS where need be). I mean, sometimes you need to think: do you really need AngularJS, Bootstrap, etc. for your website? Do you really need it?

Maybe I should get a static website up soon...dunno what I'd put in it though.

Sometimes (not oftenly) I like to jump, like, just jump for no reason other than "why not?".

Oh well, all good things come to an end.

By that, I mean that the extraordinarily large "Summer" break is over. Back to school from tomorrow.

Huh, these next few weeks are the last ones on this current school year over here. Yay for living on the other hemisphere of the world!

Some still use tables for easy vertical and horizontal alignment, but I think with a layout like that you could simply use two divs, first one with the plain white background and a no-repeat background image aligned to the right, and the second one with a border + outline (or border-image, but it works basically in the same way). Basically this idea, more or less:

<style>
.bg {background: #FFF url(http://i.imgur.com/mDVNvc0.png) no-repeat right; padding: 5px 190px 5px 5px; min-height: 200px;}
.innerBox {background: #040; border: 2px solid #000; outline: 1px solid #000; outline-offset: -4px; padding: 5px; color: #FFF;}
</style><div class="bg"><div class="innerBox">

Result. Is it close to what you were looking for? Of course, the specific padding values would need to be adjusted to how far away you want the postbox from the postarea's border, and one of the values would be of the image's width. Colors and the image would be adjusted (along with the class names to make sure it's something unique that won't be used by anyone else), obviously, but the main concept is there.

background: #000 url(http://i.imgur.com/mKJu4y3.png) no-repeat right top;

The image can be algined to the top, center or the bottom of the post. Second, CSS can't do miracles, empty spaces on the images themsleves are still considered part of the image. To make sure the image is perfectly aligned to the top of the post, the empty space at the top needs to be removed as much as possible.

A few other things: change the "bg" and "innerBox" names to something more descriptive so they don't conflict with anything else that may use such generic names on the future.

In order to make it occupy the entire frame, add a min-height: 350px; to the first element. If it still doesn't occupy the entire frame, just up the value a bit. Don't use a value much higher than you need though.

This thread just reminded me of the majesty of toast.

YEAH TOAST!

I prefer Coffee myself.

I don't like the taste of garlic for some reason. It's specially worse when everyone around me appears to like it.

On a somewhat unrelated note (this is solved after all), I've used an ad-blocker before that had a similar-ish feature, it used shadow-html to make sure a few ads were detected and hidden. It didn't really do much, but once I started knowing how to make webpages then it became a bit annoying so I had to disable it.

There's even one over here, except I don't think it's the same Kiss FM, but it has rock music.

imgur is currently in vogue, but the best one is probably your own hosting still

Posted by someone else, somewhere else
Possible alternatives:

* imgur, as long as it doesn't suck (enjoy while it lasts)

not that I'm saying Imgur is bad currently but...I recommend it for temporary images only, I can easily imagine they doing something like what Imageshack and Photobucket did

also it's been a while since I last posted here

What I can remember right now:

- The ending of To The Moon
- Lewis' story in What Remains of Edith Finch
- The safe ending in Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
- Le Hérisson (The Hedgehog), a movie, subtitled of course since I don't know french. There's not much I can say without spoiling it:

What matters isn't the fact of dying but what you're doing when you die.

Renée, what were you doing at the moment you died?

You were ready to love.

also yes I still exist

I just watched a video about the amount of deaths and casualties in WWI, and it's really unsettling to see just how terrible it all was. To think of the destruction we as a species can cause to ourselves.

And that was just one war...
