Actually SMWC is based on AB but has little to no code left. Supposedly they scratched coded it after finding AB a bit un-weildly. They ended up just keeping the style of AB as elements of how that board handles is different than AB1.

No, it's scratch built. Mostly using the ideas and elements from AB1 that they saw would fit their style.. You'd have to ask them for more of the info.

Next theme: Night. I've dug up a lost set of status images for this theme and have applied them to the theme. I don't think they ever got used?

They look unusual to me. I am thinking they are not used for a reason.

Also I dug up my old background Acmlm made for me! I tweaked it to fit the large res screens we have now, but other than that it's the same image.

Indeed. Actually Jul uses a more subtle 'nebula' background. Other than font changes and such, it's about the same. (I like the choice of background image actually Xk did a good job finding a blending image)

I think I use the red version of it on Jul myself. I don't have a whole bunch of time so I don't go there often.

Oh, those are clouds not bushes. They just look that way due to the darkening of the image. It's 7-1's background from SMB2/USA in SMAS.. (my first Phanto connection indeed goes all the way back to 2001.)

I think I will leave this another night. We'll see what tomorrow brings on the theme changes 'express'.

Indeed Clouds and background bushes are quick similar in shape.

Next theme: Mario. Now this one is the second of the series that KP has converted to AB2 format. @'Acmlm' based this on Mario game textures.

Going forward, we can apply these ideas to new themes as well now that the board supports it again.

The buttons apply using CSS trickery so it may not work in some rare occasions. (Firefox and Chrome both have been tested)

This theme does have a nice charm to it. The RPG images really make it shine too.

Next classic theme is Acmlm's ROM Hack Domain. Our version is another AB2 conversion done by KP. This was the style used on Acmlm's website that was on overclocked.org. The original was made so there was a board theme to match his website.

On our version it is. The original indeed did not have the buttons. It was text links

Edit: I've decided to end our little trip into the past on the first theme ever made for ABII. The logo is from the short lived "Acmlm's Board 2". I know for a lot of people there are unsavory memories from that time. I have a few myself. But I thought it was fitting that we should remember for the first few months it was an enjoyable posting experience. Let's reflect on the good times that were has as we close out our (2) week(s) in classic-ville.

Nice and friendly. However there are times when being direct with someone is the best thing you can do. Situationally speaking of course.

They also had controllers down there. Imagine getting a mint (abet dirty) Atari controller? Very cool!

I had in box ET back in the day (1990). I however being a kid wanted to try to play it. The cart was dead. Oh well it was more fun taking the cartridge apart than it would have been to play the game.

I don't think I've used this theme much other than when first working on the code. This theme was replaced very early on with an updated version.. In fact I'll likely change the theme to that one here in a moment.
