Kicking back and forth between DQM: J2 and Kirby Mass Attack.
DQM is pissing me off because of dumb little changes they made to the synth recipes for monsters... Before, to get a King Slime, all you had to do was chain synth a bunch of normal slimes (two generations, which is eight to make one), but now they make you synth two Behemoth Slimes, which is difficult to do. See, each time you scout a monster successfully, your chances of scouting again decreases dramatically. Why? I wish I knew, because it pisses me off that I spent my perfect and near-perfects on level 1 Slimes, only to have nothing come of them. Another thing, now that I have my King Slime, I have to grind to get him caught up to my Boreal Serpent. Easier said than done, despite the fact that the slime family grows so much faster than dragons. Their levels may be similar (22 for Kingoo [King Slime, ~13k exp] and 24 for Pangora [Boreal Serpent, 45k exp]), their stats are far from anywhere near each other... Which is odd since Kingoo is a Rank C (+4) with middling stats, compared to Pangora being a Rank E (+3) with phenomenal stats. Grinding isn't easy, either, anyone here with Dragon Quest knowledge knows that. Metal Slimes are a bitch to kill before they run away, even with the new items they added to aid in killing them. As for Mass Attack... I'm still getting used to it. Not sure if I like it that much, though. It feels too much like Canvas Curse, only marginally more playable. |

That still doesn't explain why the Black Mage, a class that has never had white casting ability - outside of cross classing - has white casting capability. |

As much as I would like to start a whole fresh story with the old characters, it appears to be nigh impossible with the fact that certain people like to dwell on the old story. Personally, I'm trying to start a whole new chapter with my character, but a certain person keeps pestering me about tying into the old story. I only started it with the tie in to the old for familiarity, as well as a continuity nod of sorts. 2. There usually is a fair amount of out of character discussion going on behind the scenes, usually between myself, Kawa, and whoever is working on their story arc with the non-hub threads. I would like to keep it where if one person heads off a thread, that only that person's character(s) are the center of the plot, without the plot hijacking. That doesn't always go as planned, though, and I'm going to attempt to get better ground rules set. Posted by TreliorIs there for a reason. It's a work in progress that I haven't had time to tweak yet. 3. That's entirely at the fault of the author is question. Don't call the whole thing bad for the lack of clarity coming from one person. |
