Ever played and beaten Final Fantasy 3 (NES)?

Nope. Not once played it. Only untranslated one I'd played was FF5, which is one of my favorites (2nd favorite actually). Only FF gmae I've ever beaten is still FF6.

Ever play Egyptian Rat Screw? That was the most fun I've ever had with card games. We used to play card games a LOT in Boy Scouts. ERS is also sometimes called Slapjack. Basically, keep quickly putting down your cards in a clockwise pattern, until you reach a card that is a double (like, two sevens in a row) or a sandwich (a seven, three, seven). Then you slap your hand down. Whoever has the fastest reaction time wins. You slap prematurely, you put two cards on the bottom of the deck. If a face card is played down, you start a chain. For jacks, place down one card. If it's a slap-worthy chain, you can get out of it, or if it's a face card, you continue to the chain to the next person. Otherwise the person who played the facecard gets the whole stack. Continue up for queen (Two cards) king (three cards) ace (four cards). Whoever has all the cards by the end wins.

It's a great timewaster for a group waiting to go to classes at Summer Camp.

Musical instruments in general. I want to learn how to play... pretty much everything, but my mind is slow and I can't think fast enough to play any that I've really tried. I was okay at Viola, but even then I was pretty much the lowest end in my class. Piano I'm absolutely terrible at, and guitar I can't even understand chords. I wish I could :/. I wanna play sax and bass mostly, though.

Also I'll jump on the writing bandwagon, though everyone tells me I'm mighty good at it as it is.

Allow me to vote, then: Fear Factory. I'm too tired to give my reasons.

Match 33: Elder Scrolls

Match 34: La Mulana

Also too tired for these, but I'll edit and explain later.

I don't really enjoy DOTA 2 either, Trel, and I LIKE MOBAs.

I finally managed to beat Fire Emblem: Sealed Sword. Huzzah! Next up is Sacred Stones I guess.

Why do you not talk to me on Skype anymore?

I THOUGHT WHAT WE HAD WAS SPECIAL!

*black and white filter, wide angle lens* I'm sorry, Trel I... I have found someone else. *dramatic pose* I can be with you... no longer...

Are you begging for questions now?

No. I literally haven't mentioned this thread at all anywhere for a while, while others are like "WELL GEE WHY HASN'T MY THREAD BEEN POSTED IN IN THREE DAYS, THE FUCK?". I don't do that. If I gets posted in it gets posted in, if not then it's not. I'm honestly surprised it's managed to keep up with the lady's, though not nearly with that many posts.

Are you better at fixing or wrecking?

Everyone is better at wrecking. It's simply easier. I prefer fixing though.

Have you seen any good movies lately, if so do you recommend any? (Yup.. I think I am going to ask this to almost everyone.)

Well I saw Doctor Horrible recently. Definitely recommend that. As for "new" movies, nothing after Django and the Hobbit. Both of which I recommend, of course.

Would you mind if I changed it to that?

Naw go ahead. I won't deny that I may change it to something else soonish though.

For those that have a low or default posts per page that is.

Pretty sure most of us do. Who here changed the posts per page to higher? I've never bothered with that, 20-per-page is a good number.

I've been thinking about switching to an education minor. I plan to teach, so I thought it'd be a good idea. My adviser told me it was a great idea, cause I need to take electives anyway, and minor courses count as electives. So it'd knock lots of birds out with one stone. I thought "great!" and went to do that today.

Education building told me to go all the way across campus to some other building to change my minor. I took their word for it, sat in the office for 10 minutes, only to have the lady say "There is no such thing as an Education minor". WHY was I put on that wild goose chase for an hour in freaking blinding-hot weather?! And why didn't my adviser know that Education minors didn't actually exist? God dammit. Oh well, I'm still gonna take the classes as electives. I just liked the path of "Education minor".

Marzen, are you suddenly Silver the Hedgehog?

Yes, but you can call me Pothead the Porcupine :D

What does the name "Marzen" mean and/or where did it come from? o=

The name Marzen comes from the N64 game Mischief Makers. It's a greatly underrated classic that I'll always recommend, because it's fantastic. One of the bosses in it is called Marzen64, and when I was like 10, I thought it sounded cool so I made it my name on Starcraft. Then I signed up for TEK Forums and named myself Samus Aran. When I realized that was a dumb name four years later, I looked back at Star Craft and was like "Yeah... that will work." and changed my name around here to Marzen64. And it's been with me ever since.

Does the CSS snippet contained in this post have any use to you for, say, randomizing the output of your Kanye Jest via PHP-generated CSS?

It probably would if I had ANY idea how to use CSS. As it is currently, I do not.

Trel, you should consider picking up some cheap RCA splitters from Walmart (probably run you less than ten) and split the signal, running part of it to a TV.

Anyway, I've tweaked the hell out of my wrist this morning, bad enough to be wearing a brace for it. Right now, it's got me bummed and is making computing of any sort a real chore. Aside from that and an impending O chem final next Wednesday, my mind is pretty much at peace.
How have you all been?

Good to see you alive, Xeruss :D It's been a while.

I'm doin' alright. Last night I went to a Magic the Gathering thingy here at college with a bunch of people. I just expected to play some games, which I did, cause I didn't have any new cards to trade with since last time. I kicked ass in a few games, then my friend Hannah showed up. I had told her to come to this one and she finally did. She showed up, played one game, then came over to me and said she was quitting Magic.

Then she gave me ALL OF HER CARDS.

It was the nicest fucking thing because of my god some of these cards. They're all old (she was big during like one of the best sets, Lorwyn/Shadowmoor), and some are super expensive. She has two completely built championship decks in the box from 2001. One's worth 60 dollars and one is worth 50. IT'S BLOWING MY FUCKING MIND.

I'm gonna spend all of today organizing them.

This is a thread about the girl I love, but a little backstory first.

I've known Jenisha for about four years now. We met over the internet, but trust each other completely. We instantly became very close friends, and I also very quickly developed a small crush for her. I tried to give it up because of multiple reasons: 1) she had said she didn't want to be in a relationship until she graduated from college, so she could focus on school and 2) No relationships that are long distance, anyways. So I gave up.

Or at least tried to. This trying went on three years.

Every time I think I broke my crush, it came back pretty strong. It's hard to describe why, but if you've ever had very strong feelings for someone you find perfect, you might know kinda where I'm coming from. This went on for years, until finally I said to her "I'm heading down to Florida in the summer, when I'm there, let's meet up and go on a date". I meant a friend date, cause I talk about friend-dates a lot in our groups we hang out at. I didn't mean anything extreme, but she said yes and actually meant yes to a date date.

So turns out crushage was both ways, and I was happy as could be. This was somewhat short lived: Her dad said no. Jenisha's Indian, and in India there is no dating. Dating doesn't exist, so her parents don't really get what it is. They also want her to not be with anyone (cause they see it as a kind of marriage) until she graduates, cause she's too young. Also, they want her to be with an Indian only. Why, I can only assume (Bigotry, family issues, etc), but it hit me kinda hard. But then Jenisha said we should go out anyway. So we did, for five months, we secret-dated underneath her dad's nose, until he found out last week.

He knows she loves me back but that's not good enough for him. Indian or go home. I'm willing to wait the three years for us to graduate for her, that I'm fine with (I was fine with it before we secret-dated), but if he's going to refuse to let her be with who she wants, I dunno. He's said he'd never force her to marry, and he also said that once she graduated she could do whatever she wanted, but I'm afraid he won't hold that commitment. Jenisha says she hasn't given up hope, and neither have I, but I'm wondering if that's a good idea.

Anyone else know anything about Indian culture to help? Or even not, what do you think? Should I give up? I care for her a lot, but if it'll end up hurting us, I don't know. I know what I want, but I'm worried it's not for the best. What do you guys think?

(I was coerced into making this thread by Liliana, so if people think I'm being dumb or whining about my problems or whatever, there's an outlet to whine at :D)

Everyone's posting things from old OSs and I have no fucking idea how they're doing it.

Though I wouldn't mind having a virtual machine or whatever the hell of Windows 95... Mostly so I can play with Microsoft Bob after 20 years.
