Oh look, something with actual shading. That hasn't showed up lately, huh?

The scanner is back for this one as the phone's camera kept screwing up.

Why am I on Windows 2000 right now :P
Because it's one of the best versions of Windows that have come out?
How am I supposed to know. :P

The closest is running random malware on a real 98SE machine from the VX Chaos backups I made years ago.

The virus collection I backed up from there is a pure goldmine (that I should mirror online at some point).

actually, none of the categories show up. :P

I do like the old software, though; it looks a hell of a lot like 1.98.08 (which I never managed to fix the installer to + jul was more secure and easy to use so)

The installer relies on register_globals.

You should get an ancient version of PHP which still has that misfeature, or use a ""fixed"" version. As I feel generous...

I was about to mention Windows ME, but I was too slow. Doh!

Do you know what you get by merging Windows CE, Windows ME and Windows NT?

Ever tried to run malware on Windows Millennium? ^_~

Has Dani failed to realize that Windows ME pretty much WAS malware?
It's still better than a pirated copy of Windows 95 I received a while back that bundled Cih (according to Kaspersky).

Today was my first experience with driving.

I still don't know how I somehow went through that, or how I somehow managed to (partly) get the hang of the controls.

Automatic transmission? Nope.

As for the other question, I could control everything but the brakes, so that I could concentrate on the acceleration.

If there is one thing that surprised me, is that how quickly the car accelerates with a little bit of pressure on the accelerator pedal, while for the clutch pedal it's the exact opposite.

more of an annoyance than a bug, but why only alpha-numerical characters in usernames? at least include dashes and underscores, since a lot of people use those :P
I think I put it like that so I could use the username directly without having to use a prepared query for everything that required the username.

The idea was that you should use the display name for more complex usernames.

That said, I can add spaces and dashes with no problems, but for everything else nope.

Unrelated, I've been quite slow for the next update, mostly because I'm going through all the files in the attempt to replace dumb shit (see XSS filter or how poll data is stored) and generally have a cleaner formatting.

Once you go SSD, you never go back? It's amazing how much better an SSD is compared to those old spinny disks ^_~
I don't know how well an SSD performs.

(I need a lot of storage and most of what's available here doesn't cut it.)

(There's no AC or table fan here, which I would have wished for last year).

Big HDDs are still the way to go if you need storage space.

But man, running your OS and programs from a SSD does a difference. A big difference.

When running on a HDD, it was slow as shit. Every time I switch from a program to another, a few seconds of lag. With a SSD, it's instant.
All things considered I *could* get a SSD for the main HD (I mean, this laptop has like 250GB of storage and I can mostly fit everything there.).

Last time I checked, the SSD out there with most storage was 500GB so it wouldn't be a problem, but I don't care enough to get another hard drive (yet).
