The end of the two week vacation from work is getting closer.

Pretty curious about the decision they are making about working from home. Cases are getting revved up again, so chances are this work-from-home deal may continue though September.
...and honestly, I'd prefer to not go through the train/bus extravaganza during this period. >_>

Very cloudy with possible rain/thunderstorms... supposedly.

For no it's only cloudy and dark (as it's 8PM, you know).

Months have passed, and still the Wi-Fi is still broken on this laptop.
Actually, back in October it kind of worked occasionally. Now it's just dead, forcing me to use ethernet (which I almost never use since it's annoying).

On the plus side, I'm looking to actually get two new computers, to replace both this 2011 laptop and the other 2012 desktop.

I've been looking at Dell/Lenovo out of curiosity to see how things are going -- surprisingly they still offer computers with DVD drives, which is pretty important to me. Then again, they also offer computers with 4GB of RAM which is like... why.

Easter for me, like, came and went.

That may or may not have something to do with waking up at 1PM that day. :V

After three failed iterarions, finally I managed to finish a complete disassembly of this game.

All of the code has been documented, including the unused/unreferenced ones, and all binary data was split.
It should build a bit perfect ROM as-is by running the included build script.

Link here

I've marked out things that are either unused, interesting/odd or outright bugs with the tags [TCRF], [POI] and [BUG].
There are quite a few of these things all over the place.

If you have suggestions or improvements to the naming conventions or file structure or see something that's incorrect, feel free to suggest anything and I'll see if it works out.

I do, because no way this laptop from 2011 is ever getting upgraded.

It's already slow as-is because of Windows Rotâ„¢ (which incidentally, is a perfect way to test if software is slow and poorly written), so I can only imagine how it'd be with 10.

I'm using both Firefox and Chromium, depending on what I need to do.

Part of this is that the version of Firefox I'm using is pretty old and I keep forgetting to update to some other browser that supports the superior XUL plugins.

2nd June 2021 update:

Added a few more older versions:
- 1.0 -> appears to be the version used (or at least very close to it) when the original board went live
- 0.0 -> Extremely early and lacks a version number (from 25th Dec 2000), recently found on an old hard drive

The fixed versions of these ones are a bit special in that they were run under PHP 8.0.3 instead of 7.x... there's still a myriad of warnings but they should work there (read: no exceptions caused by using indexes with unquoted keys).

2.x versions coming eventually, asdf

I figured I'd actually try drawing a new avatar, which is something I've been putting off for quite a while. Done on XP's mspaint with a mouse, because of course I would.

This resulted in the quest for the new avatar, with these pictures being in chronological order. Mouse-hover the images for more info:

That's more or less how I felt waking up two hours earlier than usual, in an attempt to go to the beach before working. :V

What other websites are you surprised still exist today? I'm kinda glad Homestar Runner comes back from time to time :D (Toastytech is still around too, I remember finding that site back in 2004 or so, heh)
I was going to mention ToastyTech too, that's one long runner and one of the (relatively) first websites I came across.

I have an hard time thinking of anything else though...

I've drawn another avatar, which meant yet again fighting against the mouse.

It's based off this mspaint drawing I made a couple of days ago:

I reshaded part of it, since I can't let the shading be a downgrade from the previous avatar. :V
Originally the avatar version looked like this:

but the color of the skin didn't look right to me, so I changed it:

and then I fit it into the 200x200 avatar limit.

The full evolution + some extras can be found here.
