Do you think the edit = new post bug isn't actually a bug but rather a feature of AcmlmBoard that tells people the post has been revised? (Although really it should only do it on the original or last post)

Found this in AtomicAstro's signature. I have quite a bit to say about it 
Well... there are people that still use IRC and are also quite young... like me, for instance. While I don't really use IRC much as am yet to find a channel that I like (I might check out Kafuka's if NoLimitNET enables NickServ registration again), I've also got enough knowledge to know how to set up InspIRCd and Anope services on an Ubuntu 14.04 server; that said I'm odd for my age. I prefer IRC over Discord although my community all prefer Discord because it's $trendychatserviceoftheday, while IRC is actually showing a slower decline than $trendychatserviceoftheday will in a few years' time or so... IRC has been active since 1989 and will continue to be active as long as people still use it especially in traditional communities or technical fields, while all the others will likely die out eventually and be hardly used while the cycle repeats for them. IRC is also lighter, easier to use (in my opinion: I seem to get along with command-line things while a lot of people I know don't), supports freedom (because of the fact you can have your own client, and everything is decentralised), is good for privacy and... well it just works, and doesn't need any fancy shit to be good. I'm not criticising Nicole for saying this, by the way, with this thread, if it came across that way. She's too nice ^.^ It's just that that quote from the signature inspircd me to write this thread and share my thoughts about IRC from a younger person's POV.

I'm going to be moving to Virgin soon I've heard they throttle ya after you use a certain amount of GB in an hour to ridiculous rates... and that upload speed is horrific compared to what I'm getting now... at least with Virgin I wouldn't have to pay for the phone line ____________________ Good riddance! |
