Hey everyone!

Really a blast from the past here... even the old "ROM Hack Domain" scheme I used for awhile. But I will say... now not having the New Thread button while in a thread is weird. :P

This is the combination of my last two Jul layouts, whipped together in like two minutes.

I really should customize the link colors and quote boxes and be all fancy, but... lazy :P

Today I bought the 3DS version of VVVVVV- I've played it on PC, so I've been mostly playing the included online levels... I have to say, for a game as "2D" as this, the 3D effect is used really well, even if it's only for looks.

Remember the text only layouts that used to be so common on Acmlm's Board? "THERE IS A MESSAGE FROM MR MARIO: MR MARIO IS GOING OUT". Yeah we are not going to allow those, although it's been years since I ever seen someone try to make one. ;)

But it's alright if you put it in a <marquee> tag, right?

Welcome to the land of wires.

I like it. It's very simple a functional. D620 or D630. I deal with a lot of them at work

D630- I purchased that one through my college, it seems to be a pretty common model in businesses and stuff as well from what I can tell.

I think we may have had Windows 3.1, but my first real experience were probably with the Mac OS 7 machines they had at my elementary school... (I do have vague memories of an Apple II in Kindergarten- this is was 1995, mind you :P) I remember I updated them to OS 8 and the computer people were stunned I could figure that out. :P

The first home machine I was allowed to use heavily had Windows 95, I remember having all sorts of games on that thing. :P (We had some "Game Empire" CD that had a ton of demos and what-not, I thought it was the best thing ever)

Also I was really fascinated by Lotus Organizer for some reason.

It's been around 20 degrees F here today and yesterday- really that's normal for this time of year, but since it had been unseasonably warm before that it feels extremely cold. :P

At least there's no snow... >_>

I bought Terraria a few months ago, but I find it damn near impossible to understand.

This is pretty much where I am, except I only got it a few days ago. :P Maybe I'll have to try to dig into the wiki, as I'm not actually finding the Guide much help either...

Would you rather it be Gilligan's Island? Or even I Love Lucy? I would rather it be the Price is Right because then I would feel like I won something for participating in this thread.

...but wait! I do! We all get coins for posting!

When do we get to the Showcase Showdown?

I'm a physics major (and history minor, if that is ever relevant to anything) at the College of William and Mary, expected to graduate after the spring semester... which is kind of ominous. :P

Being able to dislike a thread can be abused too easily "I don't agree" and "I don't like this user" is probably the most famous way people abuse that option.

Wouldn't "I don't agree" be a legitimate use of a dislike button? I mean, what would it be for, then?

I think I am inline with how Lili~ ♥ said it. Mostly Positive while can be abused are far less often than the Negative. Plus Positive is easier to overlook or reverse if it is abused. Negatives have an inherit connotation that can go beyond a silly thread.

Also "Dislike" button just has a bad ring to it.
I just don't like having others decide for me which threads I should find good, with no way of disagreeing, just because some trolls are around.

So, dump the +1 as well.

I don't see why you interpret it as "having others decide for me which threads I should find good", versus "people noting which threads they found good".

I wouldn't mind if a -1 button were added (all my threads would have -255 next to them, but I don't post very many threads anyway :P), but I don't necessarily see a problem with only having a +1 and not a -1, either. *shrugs*

Random wandering on an RPG's name entry letter grid more like.
Do you still have that animation?

Also, Kawa and I pronounce it "Ack-Lim"

Woah, that's how I've always pronounced it, but I didn't realize there were other people who pronounced it that way as well. o_O

(I suggest we avoid overused memes. If I see a single "Arrow in the knee" joke...)

Yo dawg, all of your base used to belong to us, but then we took over 9000 arrows to the knee.

I'm thinking this discussion has gone way off the rails, and not in the offtopic sense of the word.

What I'm getting from this discussion is that we need to replace +1 with +ponies.

Admittedly the +1 is kind of an arbitrary feature that doesn't seem to have an immediate necessary reason, but as I said in the other thread, I don't see much of a problem with it existing just as a thing...

No. This is a terrible idea. Do you want to know why?

It encourages lower quality posts, but some will go under the radar due to being done by friends of admins or admins themselves. Individuals who don't have that benefit will be accused of spamming for acs. It's basically:

01/06>04:26:08> Legion> "POST A LOT........BUT DON'T SPAM......but seriously, post your fucking hearts out"

P.S. I'd totally win this.

I remember this argument generally gets brought out when an ACS is proposed, but I don't know if it ever really happened to such a degree? After all, it'll probably lose most of its novelty pretty quickly. (Of course, there is the question whether the "badge" system proposed for this site will lend enough importance to the ACS, assuming badges are given to winners... as usually in my experience monthly wins are otherwise quickly forgotten)

As for the Legion quote, I guess the point is to sound ridiculous, but it sounds reasonable enough to me. :P

I remember using the Kafuka scheme back when I was on like 640x480 resolution (maybe it was 800x600, but no larger than that), the top banner really seemed huge. :P
