This is a complicated question, but in short, this is a misnomer. Men are typically seen as the providers in family and society, and that trait tends to take precedent over everything else. Control over circumstances is then celebrated, even emotions.

The irony is, for some this means shutting about deeper emotions, when true health comes from embracing and understanding them.

what's your opinion on personality tests?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is somehow commonly misunderstood. When properly applied it's useful for understanding the tendencies and personality preferences of yourself and others. However, results are often not well translated or understood, and often either try to fit a person into too rigid of a type, or apply the results to something that it was never meant to determine, like worthiness for a job.

To me, the MBTI is an odd microcosm of how pop psychology is so easily twisted and misunderstood.
