It's not a particularly hard boss fight on its own, but there was a lot of bad luck and other factors that fucked me over. For one thing, right as I was about to defeat it (which had been fairly easy up to that point, as the boss fight wasn't that hard), he used some charm spell on someone and they used a healing move to heal him entirely back to full health. In addition, because of its stupid AI party system, I had to have one of my members on standby throughout the whole fight, because the boss puts up a shield that instantly kills you if you hit it, and he kept hitting it. And finally, I have only enough SP for one more attack, and my whole party is wiped out and I'm at very low health. This somehow miraculously kills him.
