I think I answered this earlier in this thread but I don't remember what I answered. The SNES probably has the highest percentage of games that I really adore (and if I had to commit to absolutely one the SNES would be the one), but I'm really fond of the GameCube and the PSX too. The Dreamcast as a piece of hardware is fucking cool as shit, too. |

We have the Rocky Mountains! That's like one gigantic amusement park, if you're into that sort of thing. |

In the Airplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel (which I've never cared for, even as far as Elephant 6 type stuff goes — I like the fuzz folk aesthetic I guess but On Avery Island displays it better and Jeff Mangum isn't a good enough songwriter to get any really deep emotional reactions out of me) and Low by David Bowie (good album and I like Bowie in general, but I find Low a little overrated by that crowd. I like Station to Station more, obv)
As for Anthony Fantano, good. He moonlights stumping for neo-nazi weirdos. That's about all you need to know about him. |

I'm playing Crash Bandicoot 2 for the first time. It's a massive improvement over the first game in terms of design, and I love the weird tropical snow aesthetic (especially in the boulder levels, those are surprisingly gorgeous for PSX) (yeah I'm playing the PSX version, I like the way the N-Sane Trilogy looks but I wanted to play the original for reference). I do kind of miss the difficulty of the original, but apparently 100%ing the game actually gets surprisingly hard without being as stupidly unfair as the original game, so I'm looking forward to that.
I'm replaying Chrono Trigger, too. It's as great as I remember. I'm also slowly working through trying to 100% Ape Escape with my girlfriend (we recently beat it). It's still a dream of mine to 100% it, but the fact that my girlfriend's involvement is required and she works so often means I might have to shelve it for a bit, unfortunately... |

I'm suddenly really missing an old friend of mine and getting wistful and sad about it.
I dunno. It's weird. I didn't think about him much over the years we haven't talked, but I've been feeling weirdly nostalgic lately in ways that I couldn't quite piece together and I thought about it and I realized I've been missing this one person. I guess I learned a lot from him in general and really looked up to him and didn't realize until I spent some time distant from him with no way to really contact him... he used to have really contentious and inflammatory opinions but in retrospect I kind of realize how right he was about a lot of stuff. Plus I wasn't always nice to him and I wish I'd been nicer, I guess. I don't know why I'm suddenly posting about this here, I just have nowhere else to get it out of my system really (it's too many thoughts for Twitter really) and I'm already here so I figured I might as well barf it out |

^ ...uh... actually that friend I mentioned missing I used to tease because they were fat and sounded like a lesbian, so that's closer to true than you might think (although I miss Taryn too)
