chuunibyou is shockingly good, watching that rn. i expected ecchi garbage for some reason (idk why) but it's frequently hilarious, heartening, and endearingly sweet
speaking of kyoani moé garbage also tried rewatching k-on! recently (lol). it's... not that bad? it's fluffy and silly and dumb but also it's really really really good at that... helps shut my brain off when my brain is going bad places. which it likes to do. also forgot to mention i watched princess arete at some point, pretty good |

Posted by shanthere's some pretty awful nu metal out there (i liked staind when i was 13 but i've def changed my opinion there) but there's a lot of stuff that's all right too. deftones is great, KoRn's older stuff is probably good but i haven't heard much. honestly i don't even think linkin park is that bad. papercut, somewhere i belong and breaking the habit kinda own tbh (mark prindle agrees with me so i feel validated) but even during my absolute edgiest 13 year old phase i didn't like limp bizkit like holy hell |

update: at some point my grip became more claw grippy i guess without me realizing it. i guess ive been transitioning to clawing
clawing doesn't feel that unnatural to me, i used to play super metroid as a speedgame and i've played a lot of dark souls |

playing fallout: new vegas... first time really playing a bethesda game except for that one time i sampled skyrim in 2011. it's... i go back and forth on how great i think its story is? it's definitely better than skyrim by a million miles (considering it has a story), but it's still... not really resonating in a very deep way, i guess. i like a lot of the characters and a lot of the factions, and the gameplay's somewhat tedious but... i almost prefer the completely shallow fuck-around nature of skyrim to some of FNV's ham-fisted attempts at depth. there's people (hbomberguy) that think that caesar justifying the legion being horrible fascists through hegelian dialectics and etc. is brilliant and deep but i don't think namedropping hegel automatically leads to depth -- he just seems like a fucking shithead fascist who's read like 3 books before. the NCR's far more interesting in an exploration of carrying the logic of "the ends justify the means" to its inevitable conclusion and the ways in which it mirrors the US government's bullishness (ironically), its corruption, and what it's like to be an outsider to that mode of thinking instead of living directly under it. there's better words i could be using but it's too early for htat shit bye
also playing final fantasy 1... the NES version. it gets tedious at times and stun is a bullshit status element (i wouldn't have minded the marsh cave so bad if it weren't for getting into paralysis loops on my way out, seriously), but otherwise i am enjoying it. not that much else worth mentioning. a little terraria here, a little civ 6 there. civ 6 sucks btw but i've already written too many words and i'm not sure how to describe all the problems i have with it yet anyway... i need more time with it still i sunk 600 hours into civ 5 lol |

had a dream last night that there was an ed edd n eddy episode where eddy walked in on ed's parents having sex and was traumatized by it
it was pretty deeply uncomfortable also had a dream two nights ago that i played guitar (very specifically an ice blue metallic American Original 60s Fender Jazzmaster) in a band and sans was in the band with me. so was tails also also had a dream three nights ago where i had to shoot at a hobo to save my girlfriend from getting shot at. got home later in the dream with my gf and complained about it on old forums |
