trigun is good, i forgot to mention that i think. i don't know if i mentioned welcome to the NHK! either but that's a good one lol
also fuck i still need to see paranoia agent and ranma 1/2. especially the latter every late 80s/early 90s kid has seen that but me. i still remember seeing an ad for it in the back of some pokemon manga as a kid and being interested in it but thinking my parents would kill me if i tried to read it lol |

Posted by Ramblyposted this in another thread and got a fucked up thought: do snakes have tails. like can you have a tail if it's attached to your whole body instead of sticking out of your butt. if you're a snake is your entire body a tail? what the fuck. someone help please |

i had to ponder this for a bit because none of the genres i like are actually all that obscure, but here's some answers:
trip-hop lamb • laika • crustation. i'm not all that into massive attack beyond the stuff elizabeth fraser did with them. i listened to one of tricky's solo albums, it was aight but just not really my thing post-hardcore unwound • fugazi • drive like jehu • smart went crazy. MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS if they count. "post-rock" what a broad genre term. anyway, bark psychosis • tortoise • slint. godspeed you! black emperor are obligatory shoegaze shoegaze isn't obscure. but here's some bands people might overlook: swirlies • the ecstasy of saint theresa • flying saucer attack i love MBV and slowdive and all the usual suspects too ofc whatever the hell idol taxi are idol taxi cool shoegaze + IDM fusion shit sweet trip !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as for albums whatever albums are featured in the videos are my favs, with a few additions:
i have a friend who's really into this genre called "zeuhl". is that obscure |

^ oh jesus christ no. no i don't like that. the last time i went to the DMV i spent about an hour there, after which i got bounced to another DMV where i spent another 30 minutes where i got bounced to another DMV. i spent 3 hours there only to be told they were closed after the line shuffled through, and then another 3 hours the next day, only to be told i wasn't going to be able to get my ID because i fell through some fucking real ID requirement loopholes thanks to my parents being fuckasses. luckily they decided to go ahead and give me the ID anyway which didn't get mailed to my house because the USPS couldn't deliver it so i had to go back and pick it up. that last time only took like 5 minutes, yay! also got a cold (one of the worst i've had) from that DMV too. turns out when you have a massive amount of people packed into a relatively small building it tends to be great for viral transmission. who'd a thunk.
< sometimes wonders if we should be commenting on the above poster using the up arrows instead of just responding to the v? v sometimes asks themselves, how do i work this? sometimes asks themselves, where is that large automobile? sometimes tells themselves, this is not my beautiful house! sometimes tells themselves, this is not my beautiful wife! |

way to pour a big pile of SALT all over their religious customs. never before have i seen such bigotry obligatory question: it's 10am and you really need food. w hat do you eat at this time usually (or any other kind of a breakfast really) |

i quit new vegas lmao
really 100% of my problems with new vegas came down to the fact that it's an obsidian game made in a bethesda engine. i feel like if you took out the bethesda engine, it would be a lot better still chuggin along through final fantasy. very hard. still having fun despite that. |

eh -- a little? mostly i just feel cautious, not really terrified or panicked or anything like that. i pretty much feel this same anxiety every flu season, and the whole coronavirus outbreak feels like it's just a really bad flu season. so it's nothing i haven't dealt with before. lots of paranoid handwashing, lots of avoiding going out unless i need to. never touching my face irl. same things i do every winter-early spring, basically.
mostly this outbreak has unveiled to me some things i already kinda knew, namely:

Posted by Danikait's not that i haven't heard of leap seconds (in fact i've heard of leap smear, which is an interesting concept if you haven't heard of it), it's more like i wasn't sure what the connection was between trump and leap seconds (that's not really his jurisdiction). Posted by Robbie Ragenope :[ i was just a bit too young for Angelfire or AOL Hometown. by the time i got on the internet geocities and freewebs were the only site building type things that were in vogue. amusingly, angelfire still exists. Posted by DarkWitchClaireyes!!! i made a website or two or three in it quite a while ago, maybe 2004 or so. it was fun! |

at first, i was about to say it wouldn't be. you could argue that it's a little unethical based on the amount of resources needed vs. its practicality (it only has a very remote chance of extending a small handful of lives). there's another income inequality-based element in that it's prohibitively expensive for most people. but those are minor by themselves.
but then i realized that there are people that probably try to market cryonics to people despite its lack of proven effectiveness, and i realized that selling people an unproven medical solution for absurd amounts of money is pretty unethical. (i found out cryobiologists are a thing! literally people who study the effects of very cold temperatures on living things. most of them believe cryonics is unlikely to work at best and impossible at worst.) |

Posted by Robbie Ragewas lying in bed earlier and realized the most frustrating thing is that, for some reason, people seem incapable of operating in between the two extremes of "utterly unconcerned" or "full-blown panic mode". either "oh, this can't affect me, i'm invincible!" or "oh my god i'm going to die". people are being advised to wash their hands more, to avoid touching their face, and to keep a reasonable amount of distance from strangers... but that should already be the case. it's early march, it's still flu season, and even if it was the middle of july and there was nothing going around you should still be doing those things because it's just good to do. also the panicking and buying months' worth of hand sanitizer is fucking ridiculous. if you're planning on self-isolating, what use is the hand sanitizer going to serve??? moreover if you can buy hand soap, why take the sanitizer from people who might need it? also all the dumb rich racist boomers hearing about coronavirus in china then going on cruise ships because it's like "oh it's a chinese virus it'll never affect us clean, hygienic americans" "oh you just gotta live a little, can't let a global pandemic slow you down". bitch, you got on a fucking cruise ship isolated from the rest of humanity and in contact with the same handful of people for days at a time, what the FUCK did you think was gonna happen? |
