Finally. It's snowing. There's already a nice layer, estimated to be 2-5cm thick.
Looks like this week will be a snowy week, too. I hope I'll be able to extend my weekend to 5 days or more (it was already almost-4 days because no courses yesterday, and today's course was cancelled). ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

So it snowed yesterday and during the night. It looks so nice that I felt like taking a pic of my garden.
here (big) It also looked nice in the street during the night. But this morning it's all ruined because of cars and people ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

So yeah, I figured I should show this hack here, since I'm going to be involved into it
The hack is an ambitious project where we plan to replace all the galaxies with custom ones, and even more, like custom music. We might also make custom objects if we give it enough effort... So far, we have several planets modeled with a quality close to Nintendo's models. Some are already playable levels, with enemies and all, like shown in the video above. Progress isn't very fast, mainly due to a lack of tools. But better tools are being developed, so progress will go faster and faster. If you're interested in joining the project, let us know More info here. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

It's still snowing. It's been ages since I've last seen snow falling and staying for that long. And according to weather forecasts it'll continue tomorrow, too.
The snow layer is probably reaching 10cm where it had already snowed ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

I'd complain several times about a 'shitty connection' because it'd disconnect me from the IRC or similar stuff. But now it has gotten really really shitty.
Since a while, the speeds are being terrible. Speedtest.net shown me speeds of 0.25Mpbs down and 0.75Mbps up. The upload speed is about normal, however the download speed is terrible. The worst part being that we're paying for 2Mbps. And now, all requests to any site hosted on Dirbaio's server seem to get nowhere, and Firefox just says 'connection reset'. This is annoying because my board is hosted on Dirbaio's server, and thus I'm locked out of it. However, I can access Dirbaio's server fine if I use a proxy. So I came to wonder: have I reached some limit I'm not aware of, or is it just Wanadoo/Orange having technical issues? I'd like to know people's thoughts on that matter too. In the meantime I'm using my phone's internet. It's fast (over 4Mbps down), but it'll get throttled if I download over 250MB of data. It also seems that if I make too many new connections within a certain timespan, it'll make me wait a while before letting me make new connections again. Persistent connections, like IRC, are fine, though. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

I got Windows 8 as a Christmas present. Still haven't tried it out mostly because I need to find a computer I don't use but that would be recent enough, to test it on.
I'm not installing it on my desktop computer at first because I have a negative feeling about it. I never tried it though so I can't judge it right. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

Atleast I can access Dirbaio's server again now. That was likely one of FT's servers failing or something.
The download speed is still lame, though. It occasionally spikes to 1Mbps (still half of what we're paying for), but the average is under the average upload speed. I'll wait some more days, but if that shit continues I'll make sure we talk to the ISP about that. Come on, when you can't even watch a 240p Youtube video without it pausing to buffer, there's something wrong! Relatedly, something interesting to do would be testing my phone's connection. I reached the data cap, so let's see how much they throttle... 132Kbps down. They're pretty aggressive. May be due to poor signal quality here, though... ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

3G I think.
Also, I did more speed testing today. First test showed lots of spikes to 1Mbps, second test was rather regular. In the end both yielded 0.30Mbps. More and more lame. I might tell my parents about it, but then there are two possible scenarios I'm fearing: a) they turn out to not give a shit about it because they haven't noticed it themselves. Nothing gets done and we continue being scammed with a lame connection (until FT notices and fixes it, which could take ages) b) the slowdown turns out to come from throttling because some dumb data cap was reached. Would really suck, because I'm the one being the most annoyed by the slowness, and I'd be the one made responsive for reaching a data cap I was unaware of. However I don't think so. The spikes to 1Mbps seem to indicate it's more like some server being overloaded or some connection being lame. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

I hate that too. Especially when it's some old fatass who wants to buy a ticket with 5ct coins or such.
Most times the old fatass in question will also make the bus run late, because they're retarded and don't understand the new monetary system, or bus networks, or anything in life. That reminds me of the little middle school shitheads, in the early grades. They keep blocking ways and fighting for no reason. You constantly have to shove them off to make your way, and then they complain how older pupils are mean to them. Little twats. They'd piss me off. Some of those little twats will also want to fight against you for dumb reasons. You're stronger than them so you beat the shit out of them, but you're the one who gets the most trouble because "they're younger and weaker than you". Just because of that, you were supposed to instead let them humiliate you. All I can say is I'm glad I'm not in middle school anymore. That sucked. Retarded administration everywhere. "You may not do that because we said so." On buses again. I hate it when the bus is about to go and stops to let someone in, said person asks some dumb question to the bus driver, and then realizes this bus isn't the right one, and go away. Those morons make everyone lose time because they have no fucking common sense. When you don't know which bus you should take, you don't stop a random bus that's about to go. You read the fucking bus maps, gah. Oh and someday there was some dumbass who was taking the bus, and decided to annoy everyone under the pretext that she was tired. IT'S 6PM, EVERYONE IS TIRED SO SHUT THE FUCK UP! NOONE CARES ABOUT YOUR FUCKING LIFE Apparently the bus driver was getting annoyed too, and decided to get back at her by running slower than usual. Too bad his method of doing so also penalized everyone else. I also hate it when someone in the bus is shouting at the phone. I get the urge to go NOONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR FUCKING LIFE, SHUT THE FUCK UP! This is like something that thanks God never happened to me yet, but must be incredibly annoying. Those old ladies who sit next to you and start telling you about their life you don't give a shit about. I'm also sure that if you go "uh that's nice but I don't care", they'll start bashing young people with the same old shit as many elders. Blah blah blah, no more respect, blahblah... ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

Nicole's dream reminds me of a dream I had once recently.
I was taking a bus I usually take to go to university or get back home. Except the bus was following a really unusual way. It was a mountainside way with twists and turns every so often. The driver was also apparently very new, and was driving rather badly. The bus had a lot of trouble staying on the road. Eventually, that had to happen, the bus started slipping off the road and falling down the mountain. But that part was weird. While during the whole time I was inside the bus, when it was falling I was seeing the scene outside the bus, from above. And then I woke up. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

The 33's in there should be '33px'. It seems that specifying values without numbers isn't valid in HTML5 mode (what this board uses), but works in quirks mode (what Jul uses).
Oh also, make sure to not have newlines in your style, or the board will shit <br> tags over it and break it. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |
