That's because they're individual images.

It's related to imagegd.

It's a server side issue not a code side issue. Anything that uses libgd will fail until DJ Bouche can fix it. If it takes forever for it to be fixed I'll make a work around for the NEW Images.

EDIT: I had enough time to apply the patch @Gywall made for 2.5.2. It should show you the info via alt tag until libgd is fixed ;)

Ah nice, that's a pretty good workaround- I imagine it also means that once libgd is fixed, everything will snap back without needing another patch.
