So I ended up staying up that night. Not because of Trick or Treaters but because of the WOW event of me going and finishing up some of the quests unique to that day. Needless to day, I ended up getting distracted also programming and ended up not sleeping. Which of course ended up with me missing class. Fun!

Oh and at least I got most of the candy leftover from the night, hehe.

This is a bit late but just a confirmation that we just decided to revoke all rights from Bots to access the page.
While it does leave some bots who aren't listed ability to still do this, this will at stop most of it and if it comes down to it, we will just list more bots as we find them.

They now have their own group so once identified, they get a bit different permissions than guests or normal users. This issue *should* now be resolved for the moment.
I posted this message and will soon close this thread to confirm it being done. Just for when I look back at all the threads at a later date. I am just doing some thread maintenance.

Expect a sticky soon!

I wish to bring this up again. With some of my revamps in the permission system, a lot more things will be possible. I plan to perhaps change the double posting permission a bit to where you can control it on a thread/forum basis as well as how loose or tight you want to make it.

For example, typically normal users have 24 hours before they can post again (currently a hardcoded amount which I plan to change a bit). With the owner giving that user staff powers who has the rights or the rights granted themselves, the user is totally free to double post (I think it currently can be forum based but I am sure not thread. Correct me if I am wrong, Emuz). With my possible added flexibility, you can change the default to make it more than 24 hours (if you really must) or make it less or nonexistent. This can be on a basis set.

I just thought I would bring this up since quite a few things are being revamped and made even more flexible.

Now then, what I also want discussed is what do you honestly think should be the default limit? Should it stay 24 hours or perhaps 12 hours? 24 is fine with me but I don't think it should be any less than 12 on a default basis. Again, with the system, you can change it for a particular forum that may need you posting often.

Of course, for Kafuka, it is really Emuz's call. But I would like to see what typical defaults should be.

Sorry for the sudden revival of many of these old threads but I am going through them all so we can put to rest any and all issues. I aim to get things done.

As for this issue, I plan to use my own board's spoiler (which is courtesy of @GlitchMr.)
It works well enough and it works on my phone's browser. We'll have to do some testing when 2.6 pops up for a test spin.

I figured I'd look over this forum and another for all the known issues and double check if 2.6 resolves them or not.
My aim is to remove most of the issues but I do know there will be a few I will need to pick and choose over others.

So I'll edit this OP with a list as I scan this forum again and some other places. By the time 2.6 releases, it will solve most if not all the major issues Acmlmboard has had for some time.
I closed some resolved threads but some were already closed. Any left open are currently open for discussion or haven't been resolved.

Issues, Bugs, & Annoyances:
Various NEW marker issues: 399, 428, 237
Can't get to other pages than first one in "Sent PMs" category

Possibly resolved in 2.6 or earlier:
RE: PM issue - Resolved, simple fix.
Disable post layout doesn't work & Disabling/enabling post layout via edit post doesn't work - Believed to be fixed, will check again.
Last post link on the index isn't updated when a thread is moved
Restricted-access posts cause problems with thread.php?user - all related should be fixed since a partial rewrite.
Bots being stuck in the Calender
PM (un)deletion not working
Post preview applies layout to the reply log below
spoiler unreadable - soon to be taken care of

If it isn't above, then it either isn't known or I missed something. Please post anything that I might have missed. Crossed out ones are ones I've taken care of or at least have a good idea how to solve it.

Revisions

Revision 4: Updated the list a bit with what I know is done. (PM related stuff)
Revision 5: I can't count, lol. Since 4 I am now keeping track.

I have actually already done this days ago on the 2.6 board.

Yeah, it adds some more space but I like it better as well.

Emuz has recently given moderating permissions for Devs such as you mentioned but edit/delete don't seem to be there. I think the only way to get that is to give that permission or have you on the moderation list.

I might make a one step for all permission to do that and still keep the others. So if you want one perm to allow all thread/post moderation you have it and you also have the individual ones.

Oh and possibly extend and make moderators who moderate a forum to give admins more flexible control over what they can do in a forum. (Checkboxes if they can see moderating options, editing options, etc)

Bringing up another old topic. I've clearly gone mad, right?

Anyways, I have another thing we could use this for. When you +1 a thread, you can see it in your list of favorited threads. (coming soon or it was always a plan of mine). Not only that, but possibly have an option to order by thumbed up threads. Granted it isn't probably that useful but it would give more use for this system.

Posted by DJ Bouche
I always saw this more like the "x users were thankful for this" though admittedly I see this usually implemented at post level, rather than thread.

Maybe we can have a way of doing it post level as well perhaps. I could use my other idea and have a "list of favorite posts" as well.

Bringing this back up again. I wholeheartedly agree that this system just doesn't work for me. Now my reasons are not just for the user end but the database end as well. Having 400+ rows for what could be a bit more simple seems outrageous to me. I think we could do this in a much easier way.

First of all, the main argument I've seen to keep this Time Zone system is DST. I think we could make this much easier for both the server and user. In config, we can set what times are expected to change DST for the server end. On the user end, we can do that as well. Then they just select their offset. Should you set the DST correctly, it will always update the offset correctly and the server will do the same.

So with that said, I really want to make it "simpler" with offsets but options to allow the person to change it automatically so that it works for DST. Granted it may seem silly but I want to bring up anything we can use to overthrow Time Zones. hehe

Some sites, like mine, completely prevent things like that. So I can't do anything that requires outside connection sources. We need to have some alternate solutions to the problem.

Oh and if you work on a new solution, do note that the directory has to be "img/userpic/" in mood.php since the directory changed a bit.

It would be funny if it were the devs who placed for this month.
Although @Gywall is a dev and I am as well. Does this mean being a dev makes you more likely to be number one?!

@Mega-Mario, you need to jump on this band wagon to prove my point. ^_^

If @GreyMaria wants to play "I Wanna Kill The Guy", doesn't that mean he wants to kill you and himself? :o

How long of a session do you usually have with such difficult games? Or do you end up with short sessions?
