Especially after you've loved to hate the Program Manager and File Manager. :P

The best screenshot is the one of the first Microsoft website. They literally had a picture of the webmaster standing by the webserver. Imagine that in modern times!

There are a few screenshots of the pre-1996 Internet. I once saw one of the Windows 95 Beta program and it was pretty interesting, as the website looked just like a Windows Explorer window.

But nothing can bring back the feeling of looking at such a window and considering it the bright and shiny future :P
Actually, I do recall being able to jump to the internet from Windows Explorer in Windows XP with IE6 installed.. >_>

I remember those days as well... but I can't recreate them :P

Though I seem to recall being a Mozilla fangirl most of the time, everyone used IE at some point and I doubt I was an exception.

I used IE until the point Malware just poured through it's holes.. Then I migrated to Firefox.. That was like, version 1.5 if I recall?

I used Firefox early enough that it was Mozilla Phoenix and was their attempt at a lightweight browser from mainstream Netscape... IE became unusable pretty quickly on my old Windows 98 machine thanks to my siblings.

That kinda predates my browsing days then. It were Windows XP before I was poking around the internet. >_>

Some of my earliest memories are of the internet, specifically playing online checkers on Prodigy... I wonder if that's a bad thing. :P

You don't know the 0E bluescreen and the famous C:\con\con bug? You really missed out on something.

Heh, today I went to a Price Chopper store that's been remodeling and they had new registers, but guess what they were running? Windows 98 :P (I suppose as a stopgap, they're using their old POS system until the new one is in place, which will most likely be Windows 7 based)

Or perhaps the Windows 98 is the new system, and the old one was even older :P

I guess I did then. I don't really know the internet before IE6 on XP. :x

Although, there were still plenty of things back then that were exploitable.

It was a more innocent time :P At one point you could even just run whatever javascript in post layouts.

I even remember those days.. What about the IE filters that flipped your post upside down like a mirror?

I think we now have CSS for that! But I won't demonstrate, as it's against the rules and all... I seem to recall Xkeeper being a big fan of them.

Hmm, Although.. I don't think CSS can do all the things that the various IE filters could do. I remember there was a wavy effect that could be done. Kinda made it look like your post was drunk.

I know of one that'll basically turn all tables and rows into some sort of flipping jigsaw puzzle. Why such CSS exists is beyond me in what actual purpose for a real website.

So I need to design a flashy website.

Oh, I know. I'll have all its tables, rows, and inputs all rotate constantly! My website is bound to stand out then!

:P

If they're trying for hits, they'd just need cat of the day. Plenty of daily visits. :)

But what if we make cat of the day spin around, we'll get huge success then!

As well as a very dizzy kitty.
