Actually the rarity system was supposed to be in it from the beginning. We are going to remove the temp screens altogether, but that's a major change. None of the developers have at time to do anything of that scale.

Gywall offered to implement the missing weights. I took him up on the offer. I've only had a few hours this week, so anything to advance the code was welcome. As of now we have only two weighted sprites. The new system also makes the other unweighted ones balance out as I tried to explain. The temp 0-100 suffered from the "center weight" syndrome. Gywall is good with random seeds, and he built a much better one that won't suffer from that.

The other thing I would say is sprites are an Alpha (now more close to be beta) feature. It's in flux and it will be improved as we can do it. This was a simple fix to do. (someone external did the work, and it was a really small change [~5 lines + alter SQL table]) That's the main reason it got bumped up. When more time is available a more important feature is worked on. I actually worked on a few small things since I had a few hours to myself finally.

Kawa built the original code called "Board2 Sprites" back when it was a board2 renewel project. It was updated by DJ Bouche, and I renamed it to make it more consistent with a generic ABII board. Epele has been helping me out by managing the sprite updates since I didn't have time and it was starting to pile up. He offered to look at it, so at work I send him the code for it, and he implemented the rarity system finally.

That's who has worked on it so far at least.

As of now we have only two weighted sprites.

Actually, 24 of the 161 are weighted. Tweaked certain older ones to be rarer - The most noticeable will be Mother Brain. Not that you can miss her easily, largest sprite.

I just got SMB2 Mario, and I'd like to disagree on the redirect screens being difficult. I did it in a matter of hours on ABXD -- it can't be that hard on Acmlmboard 2.x.
