Hah. Admin forums are where communication goes to die.. All the stuff on this board in the public area.
Ironically the goal of the AB 2.1->2.5 project is to have enough flexibility to where you could host forums for small groups/projects. One could give them completely separate permissions to manage their forum(s) and you can even give them a private forum that only they and Admins could access. (Heck you could actually block them too if you wanted. Only the people who have explicit moderator permissions and root could get it at that point (however that is just a plain old stupid idea. heh) I am hoping one day Kafuka can take advantage of that functionality. My version of the code made it even easier with the whole group moderator and owner addition as well as adding new ways to be joined to a group. Those new tiers of the group could also be listed on a forum as moderating it (Moderated by: Dragon Blade Society (Moderators)). Oh, did I mention that my code also allows permission to edit specific forums as well in the new forum editor? It can pretty much make the group their own little isle. hehe
It just never was used nor fully complete before I took a permanent hiatus (wasn't meant to but life gets in the way and the system that was used made it too much work). On the bright side, at least I have another software to put my ideas in at the very least.
All of it now is fully functional and keeps getting even more improved. Edit: It seems like I bring it up a lot, but I liked the system. It is just a shame it stopped short of what potential it could have had. At least until someone does just that. I think it will eventually be expanded upon, but who knows? |
