I feel sorry for the big N. I mean I had the NES, Gameboy, SNES, N64 & the Gamecube. Those systems gave me great memories, but the competition is fierce, not only with Xbox & Playstation but also mobile phone games too.

I am one in saying that Super Mario Sunshine 2 would bring a huge hit back in the industry of gaming for Nintendo. The release of MK8 and Super Smash Bros. will not be enough. They need to stop being so lazy. C'mon Nintendo. Pull through dammit! |

The gaming population's shifting for worse.
There's more demand for fifteen-minute-games and hyper-graphical online competitive games. Game of the Year 2020: Candy Crush Saga Online UD edition. Featuring individual pieces of candy each with a unique appearance. Play against the world in live competition~ If Nintendo drops down in the hardware market, I'd like to see which console will fight the most to see Nintendo's titles. Although.. a piece of my mind here. If Sega was to focus on pushing games with the Wii U for a while, and work with Nintendo exclusively.. I think there could be quite a turn-around. The world could always use more heroes! |

My first Nintendo console was the SNES in 1994, just months before PlayStation and Saturn came out  Before then, I was Sega all the way (sadly, I no longer have my Saturn ) I'd really hate to see Nintendo go the way of Sega "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Remember a computer company called Commodore? They released dozens of incompatible 8-bit and Amiga models back in the 1980s and early 1990s, leading to their demise in 1993  I just hope Nintendo isn't going down this path... (I wonder how many people buy 360 games thinking they work on Xbox One or vice versa? I don't think Nintendo will ever vanish. Remember they also make many many other things in Japan like hanafuna/poker cars, mahjong sets, and more.
They may have to move on to software only in the future, but they have at least one more fiscal year before it's a big problem. We'll see how well SSB sells... If Nintendo will have to unforttunately make software only, I would prefer it on other consoles and PCs rather than on mobile devices. Most mobile games seem to just be, how do I say it... The PS4 is selling better than the XBone and the Wii U is selling the least.

The last Metroid game didn't do so hot, as far I remember.
There is a shortage of RPG games, or even games with RPG elements on the WiiU though. The world could always use more heroes! |

Wii U sales increased massivly with the release of Mario Kart 8. Curious how a new Smash Bros would affect sales too.

Still, even if its 'game over' for nintendo, their first party titles would be a niche that will still keep them afloat.
