I got Firefox 29, sadly. I didn't like the way it looked. Blarg blerg. Kinda ugly (leaning towards Windows 8?), and trying to copycat Chrome even more. What's up with that? You need to stand out against the concurrency, Firefox, not imitate it! What's next, dropping Gecko for Webkit?
So, upon Nina's tips, I set the menubar to be enabled permanently, grabbed Stylish and set to work. So far: (large screenshot) (this is the maximized window. The normal window is the same except with a window border around it) Colors and overall style taken from this board's default theme, Nostalgia. I didn't do much regarding the address bar yet. I need to restyle the buttons and textboxes. And perhaps remove the google bar since I never use it. And for sure, remove that Chrome menu button that is pretty much redundant with the menubar. Also, the tab bar behaves a little weirdly when closing tabs. If I knew what causes that... But so far, it's nice. It looks really good with dark-themed sites like Acmlmboards. I feel like getting dark Stylish themes for sites like Youtube, Google or Facebook, too. Also, if anyone knew the CSS selectors for opened menus, it'd be nice. ____________________ Kuribo64 - melonDS want some revolution in your coffee? |

In my own case, when 29.0 rolled out, there wasn't much in the Stylish departments.
Instead, I opted to go down the classifying route. I have the same theme, just with it pushed back to support Aero Glass. I use Classic Theme Restorer (1.2beta14 right now) for the majority of it. Other extensions to time-machine my setup, are Back/forward dropmarker (Since those site which just bounce you through a fast redirect are a nightmare if you have a fast connection to the site and only a page-by-page back button which you then need to mash). Next on my list is Status-4-Evar to return the status bar to the bottom. Then ones for personal preference, Sidebar Bookmark Selector since I liked the bookmarks in Firefox before it decided to sort them all with the "smart" bookmarks update. and oldbar 1.2 for the urlbar address suggestion to be more in line with Firefox 2.0 and older. The world could always use more heroes! |

If you want a similar UI, but don't mind the lack of official Firefox branding, you could also try SeaMonkey or Pale Moon, which are both Firefox-based but use similar UIs to Classic Firefox (QupZilla is a good option too, however it uses WebKit instead)
As for me, I've switched to Firefox 24 ESR... it's basically a version of Firefox intended for business and educational markets and only upgrades major versions every 7 rapid release versions Once 31 ESR hits however, I'll make sure to grab Classic Theme Restorer "Miracles happen, when you believe..."
