New Phyrexia has a lot more to it that leans, I guess, "signature" -- more blatant iconography, more (arguably) uniform design - whereas old Phyrexia still had some really neat stuff to it. A lot of the Urza's Block art has a really neat aesthetic to it, in my opinion, like Negator, which honestly is a lot creepier with its original artwork than the one for the Duel Deck. Though I still don't know what the fuck is up with the Antiquities Yawgmoth Demon. |

Posted by skyluigiActually, this is a legitimately pretty good question that I don't think is well-explained in MTG lore, perhaps because Phyrexia is artificial (alternatively: so evil as to not have weather?). In general, I can say the air is very, very sooty. It's very possible that it really doesn't have enough atmosphere to have weather. Apparently, though, it does have air. Either that or every single "human" who was a member of the siege of Phyrexia didn't need to breathe, or something. Actually, the better answer is probably that this was taken for granted, as often happens in fantasy works. |
