Can someone tell me what this thing is?
I popped my tower to investigate why my power supply had begun ratting again and found that thing. It has a black antenna on it, the blue wires on the left side connect to my motherboard's power button connector pins and the red wire at the top connects to a cable that is between my power supply and the main power connector on the motherboard. Sorry for the blurry pic, my hands were shaking something fierce. |

It doesn't attach anywhere other than the cable powering it and the wires that I mentioned going to the power control on my motherboard. It's not a wireless card. |

Well, I asked my friend/landlord what was up with it. Turns out it's a power monitor.
He stuck it on my machine to diagnose why it had been resetting randomly lately. Would've been nice to know that he was going to do it, because I was freaking the fuck out. Thankfully, my power supply isn't on the fritz like I was fearing. It just rattles like a motherfucker. |
