well, I found some old Jul installer god knows where

it worked, but it looks like the item shop isn't showing up. >_>

What, the icons or something aren't showing up for the items? (actually did Jul have item shop icons, I forget)

actually, none of the categories show up. :P

I do like the old software, though; it looks a hell of a lot like 1.98.08 (which I never managed to fix the installer to + jul was more secure and easy to use so)

I remember some SMF, Invision, etc. forum shop mods having item icons, I believe some of the forum shops for AB1.Ax also did; now that I remember, Jul's doesn't

The installer relies on register_globals.

You should get an ancient version of PHP which still has that misfeature, or use a ""fixed"" version. As I feel generous...

On a side note, it can be annoying when you get that "missing image" icon and don't know what it was supposed to be (especially in something on the Wayback Machine or similar)

Today was my first experience with driving.

I still don't know how I somehow went through that, or how I somehow managed to (partly) get the hang of the controls.

Did they have you control everything, and was it an automatic transmission?

On my first lesson I would only work the wheel. Manual transmissions are still ridiculously popular in France.

Automatic transmission? Nope.

As for the other question, I could control everything but the brakes, so that I could concentrate on the acceleration.

If there is one thing that surprised me, is that how quickly the car accelerates with a little bit of pressure on the accelerator pedal, while for the clutch pedal it's the exact opposite.

heh. amusing.

getting the hold of the pedals isn't the worst at all-- I was a bit worried about that too (as well as wheel angle) but atfer a bit of practice, it's natural.

it's more weird to have 'everything but the brakes'-- if I were to screw up, I would immediately slam the brakes...

Once you go SSD, you never go back? It's amazing how much better an SSD is compared to those old spinny disks ^_~

You're correct, but I only have 128GB on my hard drive. Damnit. But I have a backup SD card to prevent losing videos too.

I don't know how well an SSD performs.

(I need a lot of storage and most of what's available here doesn't cut it.)
