Anyone else tried emulators on older computers (like Windows 98, 3.11 or Mac OS 9?) Like playing SNES games on Mac OS 9 (been meaning to try Chrono Trigger on my PowerBook 1400c but not sure if any contemporary emulators of the OS 9 era would run it properly) "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Posted by Danika That sounds like a fun idea to try, I don't have any physical hardware with those OSes though. (although my dad did have a Win 2000 machine a while back if that counts, he might have it lying around somewhere in his office or summat) Guess vm's are the next best thing. ____________________ Giant Paratroopa Affected by 'Wooster Syndrome' ++++!! Posted by Danika There are a few SNES and NES emulators for MS-DOS that I've used (ZSNES and Nesticle respectively) and the 9x version of ZSNES works fine on my 233mhz Pentium II computer under Windows 95. Retroarch actually supports 9x versions of Windows, but I haven't personally tried it. |

♥11637 ✿4458 ★96 Back when I was a kid and used a Pentium MMX with 200MHz, ZSNES for SNES worked pretty well, and I used FWNES for NES emulation most often (since it supported the FDS)
One thing I really want to do is emulate a 68k Macintosh on my Amiga, but sadly none of the emulators will run on my Amiga 1000... I should just get a newer model but Amigas are so pricy... |

Oh yeah, isn't the Amiga able to emulate Mac, Atari ST, *and* even Windows 95? (Sadly Win95 would run slow as hell on even a 68060 upgraded machine) "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

♥11639 ✿4458 ★96 Posted by Danika Have you ever heard of the 68080? The modern Amiga fan community's obsession is very impressive. |

Scan-reading nesticle has bad results. The world could always use more heroes! |

♥11675 ✿4458 ★96 I swear half the reason I used FWNES was because I didn't want my parents to walk in and see NESticle on the screen |

Posted by NicolynSuch a tragedy. Emulation software killed off by risk of misreading. The world could always use more heroes! |

Posted by Nicolyn Wasn't it meant to be a lot better though? Maybe we should take this to a DOS emulator thread :p ____________________ Good riddance! |

Hard to believe it's almost football time again... are you ready for some football? Hopefully the Giants can at least do better this year "Miracles happen, when you believe..."
