I've had the godawful habit of leaning in really close to the computer monitor lately. I don't really know why I'm doing it now, but I think it's causing me eye strain.

Someone yell at me if they catch me doing it again. And by "catch me doing it again" I mean I know you can't tell but just assume I'm doing it and poke me or something okay

If you're leaning in towards your monitor as a habit, maybe you should get your eyes tested. Likely sign you need glasses of some sort.

Oh, geez, I'd legit kinda been wondering that in the back of my head...

I mean, I've never needed glasses before, so it's hard for me to judge... but I admit I've been turning up font sizes in stuff without thinking lately. It's so weird because I don't feel like anything's obviously blurry, I just feel like I have to squint a little bit more lately to read and I keep having to adjust stuff...

Craaaaaaaaaap I'm getting ooooooooold

Heh I'm a bit scared I'm gonna need bifocals or progessives soon actually ;) At least I don't have to hold out stuff like restaurant menus to read them yet

You're younger than I am though!

I'm actually counting myself lucky. I don't need glasses, at least not yet.

I'm like older than everyone else here though, I feel like a grandma ;__;

Anyone wanna play canasta or cribbage with me ;__;

One time when I was like 10 I went to an optometrist and they told me I had better-than-average vision. I don't remember any of the specifics because I was 10, but I used to pride myself on that. I prided myself on it so much I spent 10 hours a day staring at a computer screen for 20 years and ruined my vision and now I can't see anything at all and have no eyes. I dunno where I was going with this story

In high school I once went to the optometrist and I was told I was borderline and would probably need glasses at my next appointment, so I stopped going to the optometrist for ten years. That's just smart thinking there.

I should show you the lenses of my glasses. Epele knows how thick they are.

Not sure if you were born with that bad eyesight of yours, though.

I have developed this very unfortunate habit where anytime I'm on Jul and I see Ikachan on the sprite layer, I click on her.

For reference, Ikachan is present on every single page load.

Hehe, I remember back in the day when Taryn and I used to adblock Ikachan :P I remember for like a year and a half when it was Santachan and wasn't changed for months too ;)

people got so mad over ikachan existing, it was ridiculous

and nowadays on kafuka we have all these giant sprites that cover a third of the screen when they show up and no one seems to care, lol

Yeah, I'm almost there... still don't have some of them like 88 and 89 (I know OTOH I've had some of the super common ones evade me for the longest time, such as Poison Mushroom :P)

But Ikachan's so cute, how could anyone possibly hate her :<

Also her game is surprisingly good. Short and tiny, but good

The difference is, Ikachan cannot be dismissed on Jul. The giants here are click & bye. Also, they're not guaranteed on every page load.

I had a dream last night that I played Oracle of Seasons

This has led to me kind of wanting to replay the Oracles games. I used to kind of dismiss them because I liked Link's Awakening way more, but I haven't given them an honest shot in like 6 years so now I'm wondering how I'd feel about them today.

I liked Seasons okay even if the dungeon design was a little uneven, but Ages I kind of started to hate about halfway through. I don't actually really care for the locked in puzzle overworld design that the game adopts right after (or before?) Skull Dungeon; I just don't find it very fun and I think the world switching mechanic was done in more clever ways in ALTTP. >_<

Plus the whole game's atmosphere just feels kinda dull and depressing, I guess. Link's Awakening was bright and colorful and beautiful, and every new idea it had felt fresh even if there's the occasional silly mechanic (the horseheads in Face Shrine come to mind). To be fair there's a lotta really cool stuff in OoA like the Switch Hook, but yeah >_>

Wow this post went on a little while huh
