Google chrome is a spyware from google. Use SRWare Iron, is the same as google chrome, but it respects your privacy and doesn't mess around your computer.

As far as I've noticed, Google chrome hasn't really messed around with anything private, or anything really public for that matter.

Tecnically, "Spyware programs can collect various types of personal information, such as Internet surfing habit, sites that have been visited".
Chrome does exactly that. Google idea of using a web browser is intelligent, as they collect the information from you and then is send to google to do they thing.
The spy in chrome is the "updater", which slows your PC too.

I'd rather just use Firefox over Chrome. Google as a company bothers me, for one thing, and another thing is Firefox just... works as well as Chrome does. And it has better add-ons and stuff. I couldn't LIVE without NoScript and WOT.

I used to use Chrome for a while when Firefox broke once, but I don't think I'm ever going back to it. I despise Google's policies.

I prefer Firefox too. I don't know about this "spy" business some people have it in with Google but I just prefer FF because its addons and the general feel. All browsers though could be improved to better handle as may tabs I use but I suppose none will for quite some time.

So google found all my porn? :o

Maybe I should start deleting history, if that helps a bit?

So @Kawa gets to make a new ask thread, but I don't?

Sounds like staff getting away with things normal users aren't allowed to. Time to go file a complaint.

If you didn't then why is there another one there with your name as the maker, and is already has questions in it? =P

That thread has several pages. The new thread I made (which, since Kawa gets away with it, I should be allowed to do so as well) only had a few posts.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, the new thread. it still seems like you're getting away with it yourself, speaking of which, I should probably triple post in my topic, see if I can revive it or something...

There IS no new thread any more.

You need to start checking post dates.

I got randomly logged out of Kafuka this morning. I wonder why that happens sometimes <_< >_>

Did you log on under a different IP, perhaps?

Ah, yeah. I didn't know it was coded to kick me off for that though.

CenturyLink (my ISP) sometimes refuses to let me sign on for a whole day, forcing me to use a Wi-Fi network instead. It's annoying.

Yeah, it is set be default to compare the first two parts of the range I believe. I have a similar system that uses sessions like this. Might be going to a new system+ fairly soon. And it may address certain things like this as well.

I've been trying to get things set up to where I can use a schedule that won't get forgotten later on. It has been fairly difficult but I am hoping I keep up with things a bit better than last semester.

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of auto-logout at all, actually. Maybe a profile option for "log in forever"?

It is not an option of "log in forever" but rather "be less strict about my IP". And the less strict it is, it is generally more of a security risk but there's usually always one in some sense so yeah...

I can't promise anything but you might have that option but you might have to take another annoying pill to swallow instead. So it is almost a game of choose your poison. Would you rather login again or possibly do something more annoying? We are looking into better options and such so this is to be discussed further eventually. Possibly closer than soon.

And in other news, I am enjoying my RP on a certain other board. It is just sad that this board's version is like dead.

Sorry, I know essentially nothing at all about online security <_< >_>

I never understood why logins must have a time-based expiration though. IMO, if I log in to a given site once with the "Remember Me?" option, then wait 6 months, I should still be logged in rather than having to root for my password.

For public computers or whatever, the option would just be unchecked.

Some sites want to make sure that cookie or session is terminated if you forget to logout on public computers. My college is super infamous for having me to login just after 30 minutes of inactivity. >_>

I DO NOT want that at all and dislike logging in often on dynamic cases. However, my reasons if indirectly for possibly having sessions timed are different. My system has a session table and I have you logged in for about 7 days. Reason behind that are because of the table eventually getting clogged. So each session row has an exp date which will be purged if not used for awhile.

How could it get clogged? People can login from different places and different computers. People may forget to logout and clear that session. So it cleans it up for them. I could maybe make it where you can choose between 7 days and a month. There's a lot of situations to think of. You have to make it convenient for users and make the system as clean as possible so your database or users don't hate you.

Balance is fun! Although when it comes down to it, balancing a game may be more fun. And then combine it all into an AB RPG, it really becomes a hoot.

Ever try calling a drug store, supermarket, discounter, office supply store, home improvement store, etc. and try to find if something is in stock? I had a terrible experience with ShopRite's automated phone system, when all I wanted to do was ask if they had any bottles of Lady Gaga Fame in yet -_- The thing kept cutting out, messing up, etc. (or maybe it's because I'm using a cell phone rather than a landline :P)
