Why do technicians come out to do the wrong thing to a machine when the start gave clear instructions on what the machine needs to be repaired correctly?
There's a self-service machine at work that only accepts like 16% of 1p coins put into it.. Based off a sample size of 200.  The world could always use more heroes! |

I wonder what the oldest laptop I could get on WiFi would be... I know a 68K PowerBook might not support it, but I bet one of the old mid-90s Toshibas, IBMs, etc. could with an old wireless card  (it'd be even cooler if it was in greyscale  )"Miracles happen, when you believe..."

So my computer was giving me a bit of hell earlier. I was testing an old screen I'm going to be giving away to someone who needs it.. and my graphics card decided to freak out.
Turns out, a combination of dustbunnies and that caused it to lock to think there was a VGA monitor attached all the time. Had to reconnect it to get it to boot.. then I managed to disconnect it and reinstall the graphics driver after deleting it. Why on earth it did that, I'd never know.. Kinda ruined my time before work too.
Well, now I have a cleaned out PC and one that will boot.. I just hope I don't see any more hiccups. The world could always use more heroes! |

...I'm starting to realize I really have no idea how to deal with people and especially friendships/relationships. I never got the opportunity to learn that in my childhood so my complete lack of social skills is causing me problems.
I'm already glad I managed to learn to deal with loneliness, and now I know it doesn't mean I'm being neglected. However, there's one thing that hits me really hard: the feeling of being ignored. Whenever that happens, I usually break down completely, cry for hours and hours and get this awful "I just want to break up" mood. I've had that before but usually at the end of the day where I could just curl up in bed and let the day pass. Not so yesterday. It happened at the beginning of the day, and triggered some of the most awful processes in my mind. I'm just glad I managed to recover from that, or else I don't know what I would have done. |

I'm hoping a new graphics card is going to be the end of my issues with it not booting up.

Well, it seems to be the graphics card that's gone for me. The thing switched off when Windows switched from boot-resolution to 1920x1080.
I'm on now, but on a much restricted resolution as to prevent it dying on me before my new one arrives.. The world could always use more heroes! |

So our ISP finally cut off the old DSL connection... they told us on August 2013 they'd do it in 11 months, on July 29, 2014... well, whatcha say, they're right on even after such a long time. |
