But they're usually stable as all hell.

And regarding buffering vids, I have seen that but it's because youtube sucks sometimes. Even at 31Mb/s they shouldn't need to buffer.

It could be the server you're testing against has a bad upload speed (i.e your download speed). I've had that with some servers.

I'm going to be moving to Virgin soon I've heard they throttle ya after you use a certain amount of GB in an hour to ridiculous rates... and that upload speed is horrific compared to what I'm getting now... at least with Virgin I wouldn't have to pay for the phone line

Much better than this time last year. Comcast in town Brookville is much better than Windstream in the middle of the woods.

I can stream on this bandwidth. Shame I don't have the energy for it anymore.

That download throttling is a thing of the past.

On the opposite end, they do still reduce upload speeds if you upload huge amounts of data - which is several GBs of data, amount varying depending on your internet speed - during peak time (6pm to 11pm)

Had a free speed upgrade from my ISP.

This isn't even my full speed. I bottlenecked.

Update:

Wireless spectrum's cleaner this time of day. Still very slightly bottlenecking, since N wireless really isn't good enough.

so, Chrome actually does have some use.
I keep telling myself to switch to Pale Moon entirely already, but I have a few issues with it. one is text-shadow being weird.

[16:27] Thierry: also my provider is kinda random. we have downtimes sometimes, but outside of that it's very reliable.
[16:27] Thierry: I never really know when I should test it for best results. sometimes it's slow (but not down), sometimes it's very very fast.
[16:27] Thierry: ever saw a big page load in one second on a bloody 3DS? I tried it once while at top speed.
[16:28] Thierry: still can't explain the downtimes. they tested the connection (assistance service) and it works fine. also they tell you openly when they're doing maintenance.
