Okay so I have my game project... a few actually, but one of them is on source control.
It's also set up so that every time I commit, it posts a tweet with that commit's message to my account. That's why they're all prefixed "Commit:" -- to tell them apart from my own words. A guest coder who's been doing good work so far is incredibly paranoid about not being identified as working on a game like that. I can dig it. So he found out that if you look at the raw commit data, his email address was attached to every one that he'd pushed. So we rewrote history to purge his email address. It was quite a process. At one point I disabled the twitter integration so it wouldn't post 700+ things at once, then turned it back on. And then the guy found out he'd mistyped something on one particular commit. I gave him admin rights for a half hour -- it was his turn to do that whole thing. Not only did he rewrite the entire commit history, as opposed to the recent point where he joined, but he forgot to disable the twitter thing. Thought it was a program I'd made, apparently. You know those bylines, "sent from TweetDeck", "sent from Twitter for iPhone", such? "Sent from Bitbucket Service Broker" doesn't sound like a product name I'd use. So yeah, about 200 commit tweets suddenly flowed in, and I had to delete every single one manually I wasn't even mad -- even now -- since I was too busy laughing at the whole thing. |
