Depends on what the goal of the aliens are. If their goal is to spread to other planets which supports life, grab tons of Earth’s resources or just to abuse some different life forms, then it could be clearly detrimental to us. However, they could also come in peace, possibly just to meet us. (I don’t know how we would communicate with them, just don’t ask me about that.)
