Posted by Danielle I generally dislike most shows that came out around the time Steven Universe became a thing. I dislike SU a lot, and every other show that came out around after it just has this immensely masturbatory sort of feel to it. Like, it doesn't feel like I'm watching kids shows anymore so much as it feels like a bunch of hardcore California liberal types trying to preach an agenda to kids. I am all for kids shows having some more mature themes, or being enjoyable for people of all ages, but the way people hamfist these themes of "acceptance" and all this other political junk into shows in such a preachy way is totally unappealing to kids. When I was a kid, I just wanted to watch Spongebob and Dragon Ball Z. I wanted to see dumb shit and cool shit. That's it.
