Mario Kart 8. It's quite a nice addition to the series. Sure, to some people it's "Yet another Mario Kart" or the "Anti-gravity will ruin it"... But you can't mock it until you try it.
It's got the fast pace of MKDD, yet a lot of the additions from MK7. To make it more competitive though, they added coins to the item box. They're worth a top up of two coins when used, but they also make relying on dangling an item to defend yourself repeatedly in first place harder. I think this is gonna be a fun title for a long time! The world could always use more heroes! |

Been playing a ROM hack of Pokemon Gold... It's kinda... Meh.
The starters are Charmander, Totodile, and Pichu of all things... The game is a bit unbalanced on the difficulty. I made it to the first gym town and got jumped by an NPC with FIVE level 8 Pokemon. My team? Pichu, Spinarak, and Hoothoot levels 8, 3, and 6 (respectively)... REAL FUCKING FAIR, ASSHOLE! |

I've been streaming Pokemon Bronze Version, which is a hack of Gold featuring a totally custom region with some exploration into Kanto.
The hack lacks an awful lot of polish, but it's fun enough in its own respect. The custom sprites are kinda shitty looking, the custom Pokemon are poorly designed, the phone system still refers to places in Johto that don't exist in the world of the game, and the map has a lot of bugs when looking from the Pokegear. However, the difficulty is ramped up ever-so-slightly and many random encounters are actually WORTH fighting. Grinding is a non-issue since there are great sources of exp just about everywhere. Progress: I just made it to Charcoal Town, which is home to both the sixth (Flying) and seventh (Poison) gyms. Current team: Sparky (Raichu) Lv33 Chomps (Feraligatr) Lv33 Broiler (Charmeleon) Lv33 Batshit (Crobat) Lv33 Bullwinkle (Tauros) Lv33 Sola (Eevee) Lv19 I got rid of Athene in Deep Cave since Crobats were readily available in the wild and they were significantly more powerful than I would ever hope to achieve with Noctowl. I also swapped out Gamsmash (Pumbloom) for Eevee (which I will be evolving into Espeon) since my experiment with the Fakemon proved it to be pretty lackluster. It had access to a few good moves and combos, but it couldn't carry its weight due to everything Rollout being useful against could easily shitstomp it since Grass is weak to all three types Rock is effective on, not to mention every Water-type I would try to flatten with Razor Leaf would pull out a fucking Psychic-type attack. I got sick of it and ditched the fucking little blighter. My target is to offscreen grind to get Sola caught up with the others and gain a few more levels before taking on the next challenge. I'll go live sometime in the afternoon, depending on when I wake up. |

I was playing GTA V for a bit, I was mostly taking pics of my Rottweiler Chop but only liked two and saved 'em.
I played Virtua Fighter Online, I made it to the last boss and that shiny fuck mouth beat my ass and then the credits rolled up.

I got my huge game order from Walmart in the mail today.
Among the games, I got: Wii U: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Mario Kart 8 (Grabbed Pikmin 3 for the digital freebie, since it was the only one of the four I didn't already own) Rayman Legends 3DS: Bravely Default Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Kirby Triple Deluxe Mario Kart 7 Mario & Luigi Dream Team Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy So far of those, I've only played Mario Kart 8... For a single time trial. I like it so far, but damn am I bad at racing games. Letting the title screen play as I type this, I must say I like their little homage to the Super Mario Kart theme during the demo reel. Very nice touch. |

Mario Kart 8. Loving the shit out of this game.
So far, I've only worked the 50cc. I have the four new circuits three starred, and I have the first two remixed circuits done. I've been alternating my driver between Luigi and Ludwig, and they're both really good. I may have found my kart combo: Wild Wiggler, monster tires, and the super glider. The Wiggler has great speed, handling, and acceleration; the monster tires give me great traction for the snow, ice, and sand tracks; and the super glider gets some nice distance every time it deploys. |

I'm doing a hard mode run of Metroid Prime right now. I have never played hard mode Metroid Prime; it's definitely living up to the title. I was getting my shit wrecked pretty hard earlier. Right now, though, I'm almost done with the game -- heading back into Phazon Mines to take down Omega Pirate. I have basically everything I can get at this point and I still have a feeling that I'm gonna get creamed. (I keep using so many missiles. I'm actually kinda worried I won't have enough for Omega Pirate.) |
