Heh doesn't 1.92 still require an ancient version of PHP (like 4 or 5) which is long out of date? (as in the one that used to be on Acmlm's site years ago... not the current version on github) "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

Moline surprisingly enough tried to beg at Jul and a few other sites (iirc) about how to get 1.92 working. There isn't even any point trying to fix it due to the very outdated PHP 4 code. I need to put something here |

I think Xkeeper had enough of the begging, and yeah, it is for his own safety. PHP 4 and very early PHP 5 have major security flaws in them. iirc, there was a page that was posted on a security leak website about a security flaw in AB 1.92. I need to put something here |

Posted by Moline What really? What does that have to do with AcmlmBoard 3? Sadly the closest thing to an AB3 is probably ABXD though ![]() "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

ABXD is nothing like AB2, it's just a basic forum software with post layouts and that's it. nothing else special when you compare it to other forum softwares.
AB2 has the item shop, and a few other nice gems to have like ip2c (if you insert the SQL file) I need to put something here |

That's what I forgot to mention, ABXD has almost no bugs. It needs things adding though like proxy protection, which can be easily implemented.
ABXD is usually my option over Blargboard if you're not interested in making changes, but I find the Blargboard code easier to edit. You know like templates and that... I need to put something here |

ABXD 3.0 with the fixes that were pushed about 2 weeks ago or so is actually pretty stable and has very low bugs, and is generally rather secure. Only issue is MySQL 5.7 isn't supported, but I'm pretty sure that shouldn't be too hard to implement. ____________________ Good riddance! |

It starts as a passion project than something else takes the spot (or in my case I get too busy and things fall behind. Oh well it can become your passion project too. Fork me! Go on!
ABXD is more stable for sure, and less buggy. It's in a lot of ways the better choice. AB2 and it's forks are more genuine, but it has issue in logs of unstructured code, and bugs that were never fixed. It's useable for sure, but it need someone who can take it can polish the crap out of it. Also it's not php7 compatible at all. It should be made so for future proofing, but is it worth it? I'm done with PHP. An Acmlmboard style software in python would be neat. However I am also quite done working on forum software. It's not really my passion anymore. ♥10548 ✿4837 ★29 I've occasionally thought about doing a forum software in node.js that would probably have Acmlm-like elements... but I have no need for a forum.
The nice thing about games as a passion project is that they have a point of being "done" and you don't have to work on them anymore ![]() |

Well, the status update is nice, at least. Do we actually have any other active users working on the forum software, or looking to add any new features?
If so, it would be nice to know where to direct our attention, so to speak. |
