People on Facebook been egging me to get a Nintendo Switch so I can play multiplayer games with 'em. So my questions are...
1. What makes the Nintendo Switch so great? 2. What games so I invest in? 3. Is it a better investment than getting the Playstation 4? Thanks everyone. ____________________ Beacons.AI My Discord Server |

Well, I don't personally own the system myself, most of my experience is from playing on it with friends who own one, so just bear that in mind. Overall, it seems worth it to me. I'm actually planning to get one myself once I get a job and have some money for it.
Posted by Googie Well, from what I've used, it's a very comfy system in general. Feels nice in both the home console and portable mode, very pleasant to use system. It's not overly gimmicky like other Nintendo systems post-Gamecube, with the closest thing to a "gimmick" really being the home console/portable hybrid aspect of it, but that doesn't really detract from it. Posted by Googie I mean, Mario Odyssey probably. I've heard that new Animal Crossing is also pretty addicting. Smash Ultimate's pretty cool too. But really just look for whatever games interest you, if you can't even think of any games you'd want then you might not want to force yourself to buy it. Posted by Googie As someone who does own a PS4, yeah. The PS4 is a nice system but there's very little you can get out of it that you can't get elsewhere, whereas with the Switch there's a lot more exclusive content and reason to own that system specifically. PS4 has some neat exclusives and some obscure weeb games and JRPGs and stuff here and there, but Switch also has those things anyway and it's less money. Hope that somewhat helps. ____________________ Giant Paratroopa Affected by 'Wooster Syndrome' ++++!! Handsome Gentleman 7/23/18 |

The Switch has the leg up on its competition that Nintendo has always had: Exclusives that are actually worth the fact they're hostage on the console. I invested because I have more interest in Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Animal Crossing (among others) that sold me faster than the SINGLE exclusive on PS4 (inFAMOUS 3). Not to mention that anything else on the PS4 is either also on PC, or will eventually end up there. It also doesn't help that I do NOT approve of Sony moving their ENTIRE gaming division to Los Angeles, but I'd rather not turn that into the political shitstorm that is.
As for investments: Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (and the upcoming remaster of XC1), Super Mario Maker 2. As for games that got rereleased from Wuu: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, New Super Mario U Deluxe, Hyrule Warriors: Definitive. Just to name a few. As for value compared to PS4, as implied above: Sony has lost me as a customer. Fuck 'em. |

Just a small point I'll make.
The regular Nintendo Switch is a better buy than the Switch Lite. The issue of Joycon drift exists with both. With the regular Switch, you can replace the joycons. The Switch Lite just has the issue forever.. and as far as I'm aware, the Switch Lite isn't compatible with controllers. I'd agree with Trel's list of games, from what I've heard. Further recommendations I've had are Astral Chain and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. I can't say much about Switch games yet.. since I've only just been able to order the system recently. The world could always use more heroes! |

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I managed to find a Switch, the guy on Mercari has a good reputation. So I bought his for $435 it's a Game Stop refurbished system. That's the cheapest I coulda find, it comes with everything. I bought a Wii U at Game Stop used and it's still works fine. Can't wait to get the system now. 😂😂😂😂😂 ____________________ Beacons.AI My Discord Server |
