I usually just tell people to keep the change or something if I go to high numbers like that. Change is annoying to keep track of for me, practically impossible, so I don't see any reason to get 1 cent and hold onto it.
Try putting it in a jar. After a while, it adds up to something significant.

I can say there's a real annoying customer that comes by at times. He pays in 5p coins and sometimes overloads the self-service machines to the point it reports excessive change and shuts down the cash payments. >_>

I never pay with coins except for laundry and other machines. Instead, I save up coins of each type until I have enough for a complete roll, then deposit them into my bank account. It's like money you never knew you had.

Quite funny how I ranked today, but I was out all day. Honestly, morning posts help. ;)

I don't think people even realise banks can do that these days.. Either that, or they think banks charge them for the service. >_>

Banks do charge to count and roll change for you, even if you use a machine to do so... That is, unless you're a member of the bank (i.e. Have an account with them).

That's pretty crappy.. Probably explains why so many people rely on cards these days.

Which is why I roll the coins myself ^_~

What do people do with loose change, then? Just spend it?

Pretty much. When an opportunity presents itself, they dump those coins at the cashier.

*imagines someone buying lunch with only 0.01 and 0.02 coins*

When I was in Germany, I would put small change in the stamp vending machines and send postcards to friends back in the US.

Nice 2000th post there, Lili~ ♥. :D

Yep, indeed. I just noticed while typing that you made it the title just now.

Edit: And in the short time I was here, I've posted way more than I was ever able to at a few certain places. I need to catch up to my other post count which is close to 3k. At least I think it was something like that.

Edit2: Gah, mistakes! Must...correct them! Sorry people on the IRC. :P

It would be really funny if that post commenting that it was a great post would be your 4000th post or perhaps 5000th, Epele. ;)

Oh? But my average is 18 posts per day. Which lands rather short in comparison to the gap between the numbers.

Who knows what the future may bring? Maybe it will be 50 or 100 in the future when we get even more active? Heck, maybe we will get 300 posts per day or more.
A day that we can finally get syndromes easier!

Lol. I'm still the only one on Kafuka to break Reinfors++.

However that took a while. It was at random too, Oh well, that will probably be the only time I'll get it though.
